Question : How to tell someone that you’ve been struggling with anorexia?
I have been E.D.N.O.S., which is basically anorexia (not going to go into detail; look it up) for almost 7 years, my body has changed a lot since I’d first started almost seven years ago. Either people never cared to notice, or didn’t want to notice.. that I never ate. But I’m ready to get help. I can’t afford a therapist or treatment; could anyone recommend any type help? And if you know of anything free/ low cost that’d be great.
- Lost 45 pounds, but managed to gain most of it back; lost 3 teeth, 2 rotted out and one had to be pulled because of bulimia too.
I am not below weight, and if anything a healthy weight. At this point, will doctors of facilities refuse treatment because I am not classified at underweight or malnourished?

Not sure about where you live but around here there are therapists who charge by a scale. If you don’t make enough money to be charged they won’t charge but have to see you. I hope you decide to get some help. If you have someone close to you that you can tell, I would. My aunt was anorexic and died at an early age of 47. I was too young to know that she had a problem but now looking back I can see there was one. I guess the rest of the family was in denial.
If you tell someone close to you they shouldn’t be judgemental, if they are don’t worry about them. Find a support group or someone else to help you through.
Well, I live in the south so can’t recommend anywhere. Look in the phone book or use the net to find a place. Just type in mental health facilities and your city. It will bring some places up.

I have a little bit of acne here and there…I need something gentle because my skin is kinda sensitive and oily. I have some marks left from acne I’ve had before, but when I touch it, the skin feels smooth, so it’s not a pimple. What can I use to make the marks go away?

The best products that I have ever found to treat acne is Purell or generic hand sanitizing liquid (the waterless kind, clear, unscented only) and a face cream with aloe vera in it (any kind will work) Wash your face with warm water only first, don’t use soap, then rub the Purell all over your face, avoid your eyes. Don’t rinse it off. Rub face cream with aloe vera in it over top, do this every night before bed, it’s better than all those expensive acne treatment products, and your skin will glow, look great, feel smooth, and the redness will go away too.

There is a risk that having a breast enhancement or reduction can stop you from being able to breast feed. it really depends on how you heal and where scar tissue develops inside you. you could end up having blocked ducts.

Question : If you’ve had the continuous blood glucose monitor, what are the pros and cons of it?
My blood sugars have been so bad for a while now that my doctor recommended the continuous blood glucose monitor. It’s the Minimed version I believe.
So what are the pros and cons of this? I will be trying it out eventually obviously but won’t be getting it for about another month now. What do you think of it?

At this point in time there are more cons than pros….unfortunately.
With the present home meters we use today (and it doesn’t matter which one) all we can determine is what our blood sugars are at random readings with about a 10% rate of inaccuracy, either up or down. The big drawback is that no matter what the reading is (high, low or normal) , we don’t know if that number is on it’s way up or down, unless your willing to check every 1/2/ hour on a continuous basis, I don’t know many people that are willing to do that, for obvious reasons.
The pros are that we would be able to determine with more accuracy which way our numbers are heading (up or down).
I don’t know a lot about the device called a “glucowatch” but that’s where manufactures and the FDA need to put more resources so it can provide accurate results for us, and it doesn’t have to be in the form a a watch.
