Actually being an alcoholic and the ability to taste test are two different things. It probably wouldn’t be the best idea for a calling but if they have the specialized taste buds to do the job well…
Why exactly would it be in their best interest to wage war with oil bearing countries, and if it is wouldn’t they have invaded somewhere with easier to get oil and less of a military/political problem than Iraq? Even Iraq invaded kuwait for oil. We could take Kuwait in an afternoon. If Bush was smart enough to plan 9/11 I’m sure he could have planted evidence of Al Queada(sp?) in Kuwait

Anyone try these things ? They are CHEAP on ebay.
Are they reasonably accurate ?
Talking about the higher end ones that give you a score between 0.00 to 0.19.
(Cheaper ones just use green for 0.00, yellow for 0.02 and red for 0.005.
Thanks. The cheapies just arent any good.
The good ones are $ 100-200.
Not really worth it for gags.

Question : Does hyperventilation just prior to breath tester use reduce the alcohol reading?
I had a lecturer that once said alcohol takes 15 minutes to diffuse to maximal levels in the lungs after hyperventilation. I was wondering if there are any sources where this has been proven. Ive heard Myth Buster may have tested some ideas but couldn’t find any to work. I have some anecdotal evidence from friends who have been clearly over 0.05 but have blown under this limit from prior hyperventilating but this doesn’t convince me.
This is not a question about ethics, its of biological and social interest.

the problem with anecdotal evidence is that there is no control, there is no limits on what other things could be effecting the test results. lets say in a panic your friend starts doing every folk tail he can remember when it comes to beating the test, how are we to know which one of those things did the trick? worse yet how do we know that the result isn’t based on some form of equipment error?

and frankly these laws about drunk driving exist for a reason. how many people go through life thinking they will get cancer? how many people will decide to drive while drunk thinking that they will get into an accident? arrogance is not a variable in physics or chemistry

One of the main reasons for me to create this position because of my personal experiences with drinking and driving is something I am not proud, I was 3 years for driving under the influence of alcohol banned at the end of 2006, so writing this at the beginning of 2010 I have only just recently have my license back, this has been a big disadvantage for the past three years, catching public transport to work and another for elevators and all that was due, a little more than the limit of what could easily by using my own breath instead of the police could have been avoided, I have a little later, because the reception on my driver the first thing I did was to test the breath for a sale and purchase and because of the taste of the drink occasionally it is used at least once a week by me and my family and friends.

not sure who hillbilly22 is but some people have a brethalyzer installed into the ignition system of their car, so they have to blow clean to be able to start it
most of the time governents just take someone’s licence, but some locations a car is necisarry (rural locations, etc) so they install this to stop them from DUI.

never do it go in a taxi/cab because all the testings and other things are done for the safety of ours and others who are in the road trying to dupe the cops is simply duping yourself and this may land you in jail or heaven.

Mrs. Lohmann was asked about the types of reports that can be applied to the device. She said that the same reports are currently available for the new machine.
