Question : Is there a device similar to orthodontic braces one can make at home to straighten teeth by tightening ?
I used to wear braces, but accidentally threw out the retainers soon after I had them removed. My teeth have gone crooked again and I can’t afford braces (as well as a lot of other dental work I need to the point I NEVER smile with an open mouth). Is there something I can do like tighten a wire around my teeth every night that could kind of at least make a difference and straighten my teeth a little?

ABSOLUTELY NOT. There is a reason that orthodontic school is 3-4 years AFTER 4 years of dental school!

Think of pushing a gigantic statue, something like 200 pounds and 6 feet tall. If you push the head of the statue, it will tip over. Most people will bend down and push the base which also may tip the statue. The correct movement will be somewhere towards the middle.

This is just like teeth. The pressure needs to be placed towards the center of the tooth to PREVENT tipping, unless that is the wanted movement. The goal of orthodontics is either to tip teeth or make a bodily movement. The place of the bracket determines this. Is it towards the edge? then it’s probably a tipping movement. If it’s towards the center, then it’s probably a bodily movement.

The center of the tooth is NOT the center of the crown. Remember there is the root of the tooth! Each tooth is different. Some teeth have long roots and some have short roots.

Also moving teeth requires moving BONE! Teeth are not in space or air in your mouth. They are anchored in your bone. Moving teeth too rapidly causes RESORPTION Of the bone and you may actually end up losing your tooth. I’ve actually seen this on a grand scale.

Also remember your science class? For every motion, there is an equal and opposite motion. If you move your tooth in one direction, there is going to be an equal and opposite force on another tooth. And so on. You may have one tooth out of place and after your self treatment you may have two or three out of place.

seriously, unless you understand this all completely, then i wouldn’t try it. let the professionals use their 8 years of dental school and skills to give you the smile you deserve.

What are some illnesses that have similar symptoms to Schizophrenia?

Question : What are some illnesses that have similar symptoms to Schizophrenia?
I’m just curious and this is not to offend anyone, but a lot of the symptoms of Schizophrenia sound like symptoms of other mental illnesses.
Since there is no proven way of diagnosing someone Schizophrenic, then what are some illnesses that could be mistaken for Schizophrenia?
You can be diagnosed with it but there is no way to prove for sure. They have to go by what symptoms a person has and assume, which I think is pretty much BS, because like the first answerer said, it could just be anxiety overload.

Is surrogacy foe single people and gays/lesbians similar to the Stolen Generations?

1

Question : Is surrogacy foe single people and gays/lesbians similar to the Stolen Generations?
In the Australian state of Queensland, surrogacy has been legalized but some groups feel that it is bad thing to let single people and gays/lesbians to use surrogacy because they feel that it denies children the right to a mother and father. They even claim it is similar to the Stolen Generation where Aboriginal children with white blood were taken from their families to be assimilated into white culture and lost connection with their families, and therefore their culture and identities.

Can stress cause symptoms similar to those of being pregnant?

2

Question : Can stress cause symptoms similar to those of being pregnant?
I had my last period and it was normal, but I have been having sore breasts, back pain, fatigue, and more frequent urination 1 week later. Unless the condom broke without me knowing, I should not be pregnant. I do however know these symptoms can mean pregnancy. I am really stressed out about lots of things right now…could this be causing the same type of symptoms?
Furthermore, has anyone else had a scare like this and then it ends up it was just stress?

How much do you have to weigh to go to a fat camp? Or is there another camp similar to it?

Question : How much do you have to weigh to go to a fat camp? Or is there another camp similar to it?
I really want to get fit, and healthy. I don’t know how to start healthy habits, and is there another place like a fat camp, that can teach you a healthy lifestyle? I think I might not qualify. I’m 125 pounds, 14, and 5’3. So is there another camp like it if I don’t qualify?
fat camp

Answer by I’m Thinking
You are a healthy weight! I think to go to fat camp, your BMI should need to qualify as overweight. You are about an average weight for your height. You are right in the middle of normal range! Even if you were 140 pounds, you would technically still be normal weight. You’d need to be like… 150 pounds to really be overweight.

if there were some news, I’m sure it would be on this site as it gets edited very often updated very quickly.
For me acomplia has been the best. which I used as an alternative, but it works compeltely different than phen. Phentermine also showed good results, but I started to get addicted and it had way too nasty side effects.
happy not to have any sides with acomplia so far.
I am losing a pound or few every week.
It is very popular in UK, Germany and many other countries worldwide. Not so much in the US yet.
But you must keep in mind that people with depression and other mental problems should avoid acomplia as I have read that some of the people who are in this risk group get some mental side effects. So if you notice something strange, you should stop taking the pills immediately and see your doc.
