Question : How should I choose a medical alert system for my sick, elderly mother?
You remember those commercials, “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!” I need to find one of those systems for my mom who is very ill, but wants to live at home. Do you have any suggestions for what kind of monitors: bracelet or necklace? Do you know which brands should be avoided? Which brands are the best? I welcome any advice.

But some other medicine I took 3 times the amount and had seizure, vomited, and some do gooders called ambulance. They never found out what medicine I took. I sometimes take ten times amount of asthma medicine so I can breath.
It was a waste of time going to the ER because they didnt find out anything or make me better.

because you’ve built up a tolerance, your body is used to it.just be aware that you’re going to have to keep increasing the dose, just like people get addicted to pain meds.they stop working at the prescribed dose and they keep upping the dose.
if i were you i’d tell your doctor, maybe theres something similar thats stronger,i’m sure he knows how to adjust dosage and he may just say what you’re doing is fine.

> If you are gay … Wipe off that smile on your face

One of the most surprising is that gay men are more likely to die young. “Children, by their parents and teachers as more cheerful, and were assessed with a sense of humor and died earlier in adulthood than those who were less cheerful,” the researchers say, at the University of California in the United States. “Contrary to expectation were available, cheerfulness and humor is inversely proportional to longevity. One theory is that the lives of people, gay to underestimate the dangers and can handle even more difficult when things have not planned. P> If you scared … here is (still) more people with anxiety disorders tend to suffer from high blood pressure

, high cholesterol and heart disease. People with anxiety disorders are three times more common for high blood pressure – found probably because of the stress hormones, a study by Northern Arizona University in the United States are treated has. And those with phobic anxieties, such as fear of heights, a high risk for heart disease and high cholesterol and high blood pressure were true.

> Although the differences in behavior – such as greater tendency for people who want to smoke – some way to explain this, they do not explain everything. A study at the University of Antwerp in Belgium has found that less than 10 years of heart treatment , 27% of anxious types were dead, compared to 7% for the others.

If you are aggressive … They tend to hurt Long

hostile personality types prone to serious heart problems – and their to heal wounds take longer. People who suffer from atherosclerosis – arteries fur up – probably have to get hostile personalities, carried out according to a study of about 2,000 people in Scotland. And an American study has shown that aggressive people more at risk can lead to chronic inflammation throughout the body, the accumulation of fatty deposits on artery walls, causing heart disease. One theory is that people are hostile often excited, the blood pressure and heart rate, which increases the wear and tear on the cardiovascular system causes. bad people take longer to heal. Researchers at Ohio State University in the United States has created small wounds on the arms of healthy people and found that had healed after four days of furious, only 30% of the patients injuries, “compared to 70% of> patients Placid.

If you are shy … You need more than most other tissues

Socially inhibited people are more extroverted than to catch colds. Shy people are more susceptible to viral infections, carried out the research from the University of California. In animal studies, the scientists found that gregarious types had more active protective lymph nodes than shy types. (Lymph nodes are part of the body’s immune system and help to infectious germs, such as destroy cold viruses and bacteria).

Are you optimistic … You have every reason to live for the best people who always look on the bright side of things, longer, live happier, healthier. Optimists live an average of 7.5 years longer than those who take a gloomy view of the, according to a study at the University of California.

The risk of early death from disease was 55% lower for optimists, researchers found the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands. A possible explanation say researchers at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA, is that optimism helps strengthen the immune system.

Another view is that the optimism, the will increase in order to live. And the fact that optimists are more sociable, is also thought to play a role – the social life in general lowers the level of the stress hormone cortisol.

If you are registered … Try Uncorking a bottle of What’s Up

your feelings and share your health under pressure. Silent people – sometimes people in need-or D-types known – often suffer a high degree of emotional suffering, but consciously suppress their feelings, and therefore may be at higher risk of cancer and heart disease are. Once type DS develop coronary heart disease, they are to die sooner, according to a study by Harvard University in the United States. The researchers suspect that these people have poorly regulated stress hormones, the pressure on their cardiovascular systems.

If you know … You know, to ‘the right thing / p> This is the personality trait most closely associated with doing a long and healthy life. Consciousness has to stabilize a significant effect on longevity and on blood pressure and cholesterol levels that research by the University of Nottingham in Britain.
At the University of California study show that this is because people of conscience are more likely to adopt and maintain healthy behaviors, and less is reckless.

If you are neurotic … Take a deep breath

All underlining, forceful and speculation is not good for your health. As a neurotic type associated with asthma, stomach ulcers, headaches and heart disease, after a study by the University of California. He suggested that, because neurotic people often employ ineffective coping strategies – with a lot of guilt and hostility to search, instead of aid and assistance – they are stressed even more. This leads to a less effective immune system and greater susceptibility to disease.

If you are extroverted … Be careful what you> eat extroverts

found that even less vulnerable to the infection. One theory is that they have effective coping strategies and thus less stress hormones in their bodies. You can also frequently seek medical attention if symptoms occur.

The downside of being an extrovert, researchers found from Yamagata University School of Medicine in Japan, is that a person is coming from introspective likely than men to be overweight.

A possible explanation is that extroverts to be sociable and therefore tend active in several social occasions with food.

If you are a pessimist … Probably you’re right those who see will always be prepared for the worst, that when it comes to their health, they are right. The pessimists have a 19% more likely to die early compared to optimists. Researchers in the United States have also found that people have, a high degree of pessimism and anxiety have an increased risk of developing Parkinson’s disease later in life.

“What we have shown for the first time, there is a link between an anxious or pessimistic personality and the future development of Parkinson’s disease,” says neurologist Dr James Bower from the Mayo Clinic states USA. “What we have not found the explanation of this link. ‘

Need possible treatment options for a sick cat.. weight loss, anorexia, lethargy?

Question : Need possible treatment options for a sick cat.. weight loss, anorexia, lethargy?
My friend’s cat has lost a tremendous amount of weight over the last 3 and is now rail thin. He may eat only a bite or two of food, and I have not observed him actually pass a solid piece of excrement (they have 2 cats, so I can’t be certain). He had marked behavioral problems for several months before this happened. (spraying, defecating outside the box, urinating on beds and pillows) They do not have the money to take him to the vet and his condition just seems to be getting worse and worse. He is completely passive at this point and has begun drinking water from the sink and toilet rather than his (clean) waterbowl. Any ideas? Any complimentary medical advice? I suspected a compaction, and was giving him several tablespoons of olive and flax seed oil to try to lubricate the intestines, but to no effect. Please help..
