Nua Healthcare, as part of our ongoing quality improvement guidelines have purpose designed a training program for social care workers in AspergerSyndrome / Autism.
The course was written by Edward Dunne, Managing Director in conjunction with Shane Kenny, regional manager. The content is specifically gearedtowards supporting individuals with Autism / Asperger Syndrome in a residential setting. Topics covered in the training program address sensory integration issues,imaginative difficulties and communication issues. All staff have been trained in this course to date. We are hoping to eventually get the courseaccredited under FETAC and have it included in our in house degree program for social care workers. Nua Healthcare feel that this initiative will significantly improve thequality of services received by Autistic clients.
