Question : Do I need to see my regular dentist before getting cosmetic dentistry?
It has been over 5 years since I’ve seen my dentist and I know that I have several cavities that need to be taken care of. Also, my teeth are crooked and my front tooth has a chip, plus it is gradually deteriating because I use to eat alot of lemons and oranges. Do I need to see my regular dentist before I can get cosmetic dentistry or can a cosmetic dentist take care of my other dental issues at the same time?

Your regular dentist can take care of all the problems you mention, unless you also want braces. Cavities and chips are routine dental matters, braces require an orthodontist. They usually prefer you to have routine dental work done by your regular dentist first. And although some of them will do the other routine work, they tend to charge more for the priveledge. So just start with your regular dentist and go from there.

Question : I had lower back surgery for a slipped disc almost a year ago, is it bad to start running on a regular basis?
i had lower back surgery almost a year ago for a slipped disc, i started running again and i feel ok besides some minor pains. My doctor says never to run again, but then he said not to try to run until a year from the surgery. He also said there is people that go play in the NFL after the surgery.

Be careful! You need to check back with your Doctor, and have it clarified! You really don’t want to do anything to re-damage your back or make it worse than before surgery! Good luck! kjl

I was recently addicted to opiates and have quit completely. I was using them for about a year and six months into my addiction I stopped having my menstral cycle. I have now been clean for over a month and have not had my menstral cycle start again. Has anyone had this addiciton or heard about it and have had it come back? Or is this a permanent thing that I have done to my body because of my drug addiction?

Congratulations on stopping. Did you go cold turkey?
It was almost 9 months before I had another period and I actually ended up having to go to the oncologist and get infused with iv iron. About 3 weeks later I had a period. Opiates are so hard on your body especially when you take them over a long period of time. When I went off of opiates I went on Suboxone. It has helped, I have relapsed once or twice but now I am back on the right track. Don’t trust yourself around them, I can’t. Good luck in your recovery. God Bless

i have porcelain crowns on my two front teeth.. can you eat regular like biting into an apple. as of now i have temps on made of acrlic and they kinda bother me.. is it going to be like this with the real ones? also the temp ones are kinda big and they stick out a little like buck teeth. will the real ones do this?

you can eat normal foods, after the permanent ones are put in, i think that the bulk and the discomfort of what you have now is the fact that they are not made to fit your mouth but everyones…its not custom made yet. the real ones should feel much better, but dont be afraid to tell your dentist if its very uncomfortable right away. you are the one living with them. you should feel comfortable.

Actually yes, in the long run you get not just diminishing results but counterproductive results! An occasional treatment is fine and will look great, but over time it will cause more harm than good.

My asthma only kicks in whenever I begin to run or jog, and it always last for the first 15 minutes making breathing difficult. But I refuse to use an inhaler and I push through and keep running even though the air going in to my lungs is tiny. After a while my chest loosens up and my breathing returns to normal. So how is my asthma different to regular asthma?
