Can my parents legally make me go to treatment for bulimia? Help, please!?

Question : Can my parents legally make me go to treatment for bulimia? Help, please!?
I’m 17 years old. My parents found out that I purge after eating. They sent me to see a therapist (who doesn’t even specialize in Eating Disorders), and after finding out I’ve been doing this over two years, she made me attend an outpatient program for two weeks. I didn’t “improve” so they’re making me go to an inpatient program in another state?!? I’m a senior in high school, I will be 18 in July, I only have a few months of school left- I don’t want to spend these best months of my life in a treatment center away from my friends.

How can I make them stop?! I tried to express my concerns but no one would hear it- not even my therapist!!! I’m not even bulimic, I barely have any problem, sure I throw up sometimes but does that make it ok to do this to me?!

Do I legally have to go to this center? Do I have any other options?

Thank You.

My parents aren’t really helping me with my anorexia recovery. What should I do?

Question : My parents aren’t really helping me with my anorexia recovery. What should I do?
I have lost about 30 pounds since December. I just didn’t like the way I looked. I’m actually extremely happy with the weight i’m at now, and think I just need to gain about 5 pounds of muscle. I told my parents that I would be happy to gain weight, if they would work with me. I asked them to buy things like chicken breast, brown rice, and fruit, instead of poptarts, cheese dip and tortilla chips, and white bread like they usually do. I won’t eat much because all they bring home is junk. But they refuse to stop buying the junk food and buy me healthy food.
This morning (on the way to my wisdom teeth surgery), my dad started yelling at me about how I only got hired at my job because my boss wants to get in my pants and said he was taking my car away unless I went to anorexia counseling.
No offense to an therapist/patients, but I think counseling is absolutely stupid. I wouldn’t need counseling if they would just buy what I told them I would eat, so I could gain healthy weight.
What should I do? I’m 19, so luckilly i’m about to go back to college in about 3 weeks at least.
I’m 5’9″ and 109 pounds, btw.
I can’t buy my own food, because I have had two major surgeries this summer and am still in recovery. Thus I have no money.
And I was a perfectly healthy weight last year in college, 120-135 pounds, because I was able to choose my own foods.

I know how you feel. I want to become healthier, but my parents always buy crackers, snack cakes and ice cream, and little to no actual lunch items. The only healthy food option available is fiber cereal, and I would go nuts if I ate nothing but that. No wonder I’m so hungry by dinner time.

I hope you have a better time of it in college. Finally, you will be able to choose what you want to eat.

Well if you really do have an eating disorder, then you should go to rehab. Either way go to a doctor and ask them what they think. 5’4 and 110 isnt like scary skinny but still u should talk to a doctor. Don’t hate ur mom either, she’s just trying to help even tho it might be stressful.
hope this helps!

My mom told me she won’t let me go back to college if I don’t gain 10 pounds by the time we are supposed to start back in 2 1/2 weeks. It’s hard to gain that much weight in that short of time without doing it in an unhealthy manner. My parents are essentially setting me up to end up with a binge eating disorder after anorexia by trying to force feed me addicting sugary/fast foods.
No offense to an therapist/patients, but I think counseling is absolutely stupid. I wouldn’t need counseling if they would just buy what I told them I would eat, so I could gain healthy weight.

I agree with your idea that you need healthier food.

However, I don’t agree that you do not need therapy. I think you should go to a legitimate good therapist, and that your parents absolutely must go with you, as well as go with you to nutrition counseling. The nutrition counselor will tel them that poptarts are not going to work for anyone, and that they can choose to eat it, but you need something better if you’re ever going to get well.

Also regarding the counseling – it doesn’t sound like you’ve made great choices on your own, so why not see if another person outside your family might lead you to think about better ideas? After all, anorexia is very much a problem with the brain & your thinking processes, so you need couseling of some type for that. If you were diabetic, I would hope you would not think that seeng an endocrinologist would be stupid.

You could point out that chicken, brown rice, and fruit are not very expensive (cheese dip and ice cream are expensive!), and ask them to let them you try it your way for a month.

Your parents are probably worried sick about you – after all, people die from anorexia. At least you know they care.

Market sees OxyContin drug tests test a crucial niche for parents

know, the problem of prescription oxycodone abuse

As you may have, drug abuse has become a huge problem in the United States. For example, an information was 2005, the future study of high school students, abuse of OxyContin under 12 Graders increased from 40 percent in 3 years. OxyContin is one of many generic names for drugs, including oxycodone drugs.

If, as prescribed drugs like OxyContin and Percocet (also oxycodone) offer pain relief for cancer patients and people to undergo surgery. When used incorrectly, however, earned his nickname of OxyContin? Hillbilly Heroin? Production of tips with heroin as a user and, in many cases cheaper than heroin itself. Therefore developed oxycodone or OxyContin test? in response to a growing problem that a solution is required.

Before the test, OxyContin has been made, there was no way to test 98% accurate for a buyer to urine drug test for oxycodone-based drugs, even if they do not have much in common with the opium and heroin, Drugs that can all be tested at once. understand

The difference between opiates and opioids

To why oxycodone own home requires drug testing, we must first examine how drugs of interest are listed here. They are all opioids. Opioids are chemicals that work on the brain? S-opioid receptors. Endorphins, for example, are opioids produced naturally by the body. Morphine, opium, heroin, oxycodone and hydrocodone (Vicodin) are all opioids. They are so similar, but they can not all be detected by the same drug screen. Why?

FDA approved urine tests for opiates, which are on the market are made specifically to heroin or morphine-specific recognition. A test for opiates, which has a 300 nanogram per milliliter level cutoff, is the one who is looking for morphine-based drugs, has during a test, an opiate 2000 nanograms per milliliter cutoff level for us, heroin and opium. Morphine is not much in common with oxycodone, since both are opiates, but of course morphine is found, while oxycodone can not. Oxycodone is to be made in a laboratory. This leads to structural differences.

If a urine test can opiates morphine, heroin and so on, take the cut-off level, it can only / oxycodone OxyContin in larger quantities, see â? Levels of the overdose. Thus, a new design called for the issue of abuse of prescription drugs address.

Oxycontin / Vicodin test

The same technology used to create other urine tests were used to test for oxycodone. It can OxyContin, Vicodin (acetaminophen and hydrocodone is a drug very similar to oxycodone), Percocet, and other hydrocodone, hydromorphone, or oxycodone-based drugs with an accuracy 98%. It is precisely for these drugs than with one of two versions of the test opiates in urine. After the metabolism and other factors, oxycodone appears in the urine 2-5 hours after it is used and later disappears from the urine 2-4 days. Oxycodone new specific screening tests in urine related to 100 nanograms per milliliter, a very small amount of oxycodone.

The right choice as a consumer of a home drug test

Whether you are a member of a police department, a concerned parent or friend, it is important that the right information at hand to have a decision to meet on dealing with drug abuse. If you test for that substance abuse and him think you have to choose a test, get the drug covered. One might think that a test could be seen opiate oxycodone opiate oxycodone in general, and very similar. That is not the case if it home to drug testing options and is aware when a customer has the greatest success in the search for oxycodone.

its not normal to throw up after eating.. You need to either correct that yourself or go see a specialist as much as you dislike it. Your parents are doing the right thing, if i were you and i hated seeing doctors and wasting all my time with them, i would fix things myself cuz its actually a serious problem.
