pancreatic cancer – prevention and treatment

pancreatic cancer, currently the fifth leading cause of cancer death in the United States, the growth of malignant cells in the pancreas, an organ shaped bulb just below and behind the stomach. The pancreas secretes digestive enzymes into the small intestine through the bile duct cells and islets of Langerhans in the pancreas hormones (insulin and glucagon) in the blood. Pancreatic cancer hinders digestion, and can block the bile duct as it grows. Most cases occur after age 50 Age, men than women. A cure may be possible by early diagnosis and surgical removal. However, it is extremely difficult to diagnose pancreatic cancer and will appear usually transmitted by the symptoms, if the cures are rare. Pancreatic islet cell tumors (insulinomas) are much rarer. They give too much insulin, blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Only about 10 percent of insulinomas are malignant, and symptoms of hypoglycemia by surgical removal of the tumor can be removed.

surgical removal of the tumor with a relatively small tumor that has not been reached, which can prolong survival possible. Surgery may be removing the entire pancreas and part of the small intestine. An operation, bypass a blocked bile duct by the tumor can be done to alleviate the symptoms. Chemotherapy in combination with radiation therapy can destroy cancer cells and relieve symptoms. Analgesics or anesthetics are administered to reduce pain. Antihistamines, or amphetamines are used to enhance the analgesic effect. In cases of severe pain, the afferent nerves are cut or destroyed by an injection of alcohol at the time of surgery. Tablets of pancreatic enzymes may be prescribed if the food is poorly absorbed by blocking the pancreatic secretion. Much has been said about the prevention and treatment standards. We are now exploring alternatives for the prevention and treatment. Alternative prevention and healing increase and gain respect in the world of science. pancreatic cancer

Introduction

Pancreatic cancer is also described as cancer of the pancreas, a severe genetic illness and increased mortality among Americans. This is the fifth largest among the genetic diseases that are deadly. The number of people affected in about 28,000 per year in America, estimated at a rate of about five people in 100,000 is a patient of this condition. The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions describe doctors, “a cancer of the pancreas as a challenge in the 21st century”

.

The pancreas is a gland after by cancer or cancer of the pancreas name. It is located behind the stomach and extends across the abdomen. It consists of two exocrine glands and endocrine glands. The pancreas is responsible for the enzyme that digests the fats and proteins and is secreted by the exocrine pancreas. Some cells of the organ and endocrine hormones such as insulin and glucagon are secret therefore help in the metabolism of sugar.

Creation of cancer

Maybe the big question is to ask how these cells are pancreatic cancer? Human cells are susceptible to oncogenesis, they develop tumors readily develop means, American Cancer Society (2008). It was found exocrine tumors, which are very common. However, all tumors are generally not malicious. Small groups are usually benign. In the study of pancreatic cancer, it is important to note that malignant cells are difficult to the worst conditions of cancer. Pancreatic cancer provides the most critical aspects of the pathology, as well as other diseases and the causes, signs and symptoms, mortality, prevalence, risk factors, diagnosis, and includes drugs (Sulyak et al, 2003 & Reber, 1998)

Another key question is .? what causes pancreatic cancer Its not exactly determined, but in terms of some powerful risk factors as much likelihood of the disease and are generally regarded as the causes of this by some researchers. For example, smoking, age, diabetes mellitus and pancreatitis mainly caused by excessive alcohol consumption, American Cancer Society created (2008). This leads to the nest question is, what are the risk factors for developing pancreatic cancer? There are a number of events and circumstances that had a higher prevalence of the disease state linked. Basically, it is necessary to determine what is a risk factor? This is something that improves the possibility of obtaining the status of the disease as in this case, cancer of the pancreas. Some risk factors such as smoking can be managed, while others are about our ability to, such as age and race are not changed. What follows are some common risk factors, age most have first 55 at higher risk (90%) (Jemal et al, 2004), Gender – Men are more prone to pancreatic cancer at a ratio of 1:3 compared with women running the prevalence is very high African countries, Caucasian and Hispanic Americans America’s smoke, compared smokers have a higher risk of developing cancer 2-3; diet foods are rich in protein and fat very, very dangerous, while fruit and vegetables reduce the risk. Obesity is a risk factor. Other factors include diabetes, liver cirrhosis, and family history of disease, exposure, and occupational changes Genetic (Sulyak et al 2003)

What are the symptoms of this disease? The main signs and symptoms, often for patients with pancreatic cancer are abdominal pain and lower back, lost considerable weight and is often a lack of appetite, abdominal swelling, diarrhea (especially steatorrhea) and occasionally stand in diabetics. These symptoms are very vague, but easy for other common diseases, the less seriously mistaken. It was very painful as the condition is detected already in the early and advanced stages is very difficult to find a higher mortality as a result

good (Swiezewski 1999).

As pancreatic cancer diagnosed? It is usually very difficult to diagnose, but physical examination is performed to develop conditions for private and family history, physical signs, pulse, blood pressure and so on. create others to do operations that were including x-rays on the blood vessels (angiography), trans-abdominal ultrasound, CT for the picture of the pancreatic scan, and a special x-ray of bile, cholangiopancreatogram endoscopic retrograde (ERCP l ‘) and, recently new technologies introduced endoscopic ultrasound (Michaud et al 2001). However, a biopsy is the surest way to determine the presence of cancer. A key concern is whether the pancreatic cancer can be prevented? Scientists have not proved a sure way to prevent this condition, but the avoidance of risk factors that are preventable is essential, such as smoking, diet and exercise, eMedicineHealth (2009).

What is the prevalence? According to forecasts by the Cancer Society in the United States there are approximately 35 180 people infected with the disease this year and the mortality rate is about 32, 800 The company believes that the rate of five years after diagnosis. Survival is only 4% It is the fourth leading cause of death than cancer (Jemal et al 2004) The condition is fatal, what the treatment of this question is very important;.? Cancer treatment is very difficult and depends on several factors, including the type of cancer, the extent (stage) and tumor size and age of the patients eMedicineHealth (2009). The disease can be cured if detected at an early stage. Various treatments are available and they include chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and radiotherapy.

Conclusion

here is pancreatic cancer and was evaluated to be known among the most aggressive cancers. His diagnosis is not easy and when it becomes clear it is usually advanced when it has already spread other parts of the body, especially if it is malignant. It has been shown that pancreatic cancer is relatively resistant to drugs and surgery alone is the best. Taking all these factors, its important to be very careful with the observation of risk factors and symptoms.

A 75 with pancreatic cancer…well, that’s rough. Most pancreatic cancers are found too late which is why people will turn to any means possible to help the ones they love. I’d probably do too. I don’t know. But I was scammed into thinking that this “wonderful, miracle” tea would prevent cancer or cure cancer. What a joke. I took it for a year. the rest is history. I pray the person you’re talking about feels better. Prayers, love,

I don’t think people online will be able to give you answers to what medications would be required. However, my aunt had pancreatic cancer. She was treated at MD Anderson. However, by the time they found out the details about her cancer, it had already spread and they weren’t able to do much for her. She did however, live 2 yrs past the time she was initially diagnosed. Good luck to you. Hope that your mom gets better. Always remember to cherish all the moments that you have.

Causes of pancreatic cancer, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis

0

Pancreatic cancer begins in the tissues of the pancreas, an organ that lies horizontally behind the lower abdomen. Pancreatic cancer is more common in men aged between 35 and 70, it is the fourth leading cause of cancer death (after lung cancer, colon cancer and breast cancer). Pancreatic cancer is usually an adenocarcinoma and it usually occurs in pancreatic cells that make up the bulk of the pancreas.

Cause pancreatic cancer
Pancreatic cancer is caused by damage to genes, but we do not know exactly why this happens damage. Evidence, it is to carcinogens such as cigarettes, are foods high in fat and protein and additives. Possible risk factors are chronic pancreatitis, diabetes mellitus and chronic alcohol abuse.

There is some evidence that people who eat lots of fruits and vegetables are at higher risk for pancreatic cancer. Obesity can be a slightly increased risk of pancreatic cancer. Some industrial chemicals called chlorinated hydrocarbons to be related to pancreatic cancer in which, although they are probably an important factor. Other chemicals and exposures to increased risk of pancreatic cancer in some studies have linked are pesticides, radiation, nickel, chromium and iron.

The average age of onset of pancreatic cancer is used between 70 to 80, present but heavy smokers and heavy drinkers with pancreatic cancer an average of seven to 10 years than the rest of the population.

Signs and symptoms of cancer />
The most common are weight loss, abdominal pain or back pain, jaundice and diarrhea.
Other general effects include fever, skin rashes, depression, anxiety and anticipation of impending death. Ascites (fluid in the abdomen) may be a sign of pancreatic tumors.

diagnosis
It is very difficult to diagnose pancreatic cancer as the pancreas is so deep in the body and the symptoms depend on the exact location of the tumor cells in the pancreas or the function of pancreatic function is affected by the tumor or cancer. Unfortunately, symptoms of pancreatic cancer are vague and nonspecific and can often also by many other conditions and caused less severe.

Pancreatic cancer typically spreads rapidly and is seldom at an early stage, which is a major reason why he is a leading cause of cancer death is detected. Pancreatic cancer specialists believe that anyone over 50, diabetes, and unexplained weight loss should be investigated for other diseases of the pancreas developed. Courvoisier sign defines the presence of jaundice and painlessly distended gallbladder as strongly indicative of pancreatic cancer and can be used to distinguish pancreatic cancer from gallstones.

treatment
Treatment of pancreatic cancer depends on the stage and location of the tumor as well as your age, general health and personal preferences. The first goal of the treatment of pancreatic cancer is the cancer if possible to remove. If this is not an option, the growing emphasis on prevention of pancreatic cancer or even more harm to be placed. Pancreatic cancer is relatively resistant to medical treatment and the only potentially curative treatment is surgery. Radiotherapy for cancer of the pancreas can relieve pain but do not affect patient survival.

Gemcitabine was approved by the FDA in the United States in 1998 after a clinical trial reported improvements in quality of life in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. Management of pain and other symptoms is an important part of the treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer.

Forecast
Pancreatic cancer often has a poor prognosis, even if early diagnosis and the median survival time from diagnosis to death is probably the worst of all cancers. The best predictors of long-term survival after surgery, a tumor diameter of less than 3 cm, without lymph node involvement, negative resection margins, and diploid DNA content of tumors.

are limited due to difficulties in diagnosis, the aggressive nature of pancreatic cancer and systemic treatments, the survival rate after five years in patients with pancreatic cancer, only about 5%. For pancreatic cancer that are not completely removed by surgery, or cancer that has spread beyond the pancreas, cure is not possible and the average survival is usually less than 1 year.

Answer by Panda
Cancer Treatment Center of America are private cancer hospitals. It’s difficult to accurately give statistics for these facilities because they are exclusive in who they choose to treat . . they are able to pick and choose the patient and type of cancer they will treat. I know personally that they have turned patients away who had a type of cancer considered ‘terminal’ . . they didn’t want to treat her even though she had plenty of money . . so they pick and choose who they want for patients.

Pancreatic cancer: causes, symptoms, treatment and prevention

0

pancreatic cancer: malignant neoplasms of the pancreas. Pancreatic cancer is called a “silent” disease because early pancreatic cancer usually does not cause symptoms. If the tumor blocks the bile duct and bile can not pass through the digestive system, skin and whites of the eyes turning yellow (jaundice), dark urine, and called as a result of accumulated bile pigment bilirubin.

pancreatic cancer causes

exactly what damages DNA in the vast majority of cases of pancreatic cancer is unclear. In other words, the exact causes of pancreatic cancer is not clear. But we know that a small percentage of people developing the disease by genetic predisposition. Those who have a close relative such as parents or siblings with pancreatic cancer a higher risk of developing pancreatic cancer themselves.

age: is also a factor in increasing the incidence of the disease. With increasing age increases the likelihood of pancreatic cancer increased. The incidence of pancreatic cancer is relatively low in people aged 50 years, after which it increased. The group of 65 to 79 has the highest incidence of pancreatic cancer

.

pancreatic cancer symptoms

In many cases, do symptoms of pancreatic cancer until the later stages. If the symptoms of pancreatic cancer occur, they are often ignored because they are so vague and unspecific. Early symptoms of pancreatic cancer is usually abdominal pain and weight loss. Other symptoms of pancreatic cancer compared include jaundice, fatigue, dizziness, weakness, diarrhea, chills and cramps.

Many of these symptoms of pancreatic cancer are the result of a less severe disease. However, only a doctor can diagnose accurately whether the symptoms of pancreatic cancer the result of cancer.

Pain

pancreatic cancer cause pain and discomfort in the upper abdomen, which sometimes spreads to the back. First, pain and come and go, but the cancer is larger and more advanced, you may find that the pain is more constant, and lasts longer.

The cause of pancreatic cancer pain is often worse when you lie down or eat. This type of pain people are more likely, the tumor in the body or tail of the pancreas formed influence.

treatment of pancreatic cancer:

This cancer is difficult to diagnose because there are no symptoms in its early stages and because, when symptoms occur, they correspond to other diseases. Depending on the stage and location of the cancer, surgery, chemotherapy and / or radiotherapy are used. If the cancer has not spread beyond the pancreas, the therapy can be successful, but as indicated above, it is very unlikely that pancreatic cancer be found early. In later stages of therapy often focuses on patient comfort.

obstruction of bile flow, you are relieved temporarily by a tube (stent) in the bottom of the channel, the bile from the liver and gall bladder drainage. In most cases, the tumor is blocking the channel finally, above and below the stent. An alternative method of treatment is the surgical creation of a channel that bypasses the obstruction. For example, obstruction of the small intestine through a duct to the stomach with a portion of the small intestine that connects to bypass the obstruction.
