Question : Doctor Needed Please Mobility Needs?
I need a doctor in NYS to write me a perscription for a mobility product. NO DRUGS just need a script for a POWER SCOOTER. I can not walk long distances and would like to regain my freedom. However my local doctor has retired and i dont have one so if you can write me a script for a power scooter so i can get one that would be nice.. Please i am begging you to help me out.

I hope you can get one through your doctor, but if you can’t, you might want to look online at eBay or Craig’s List. We got a good refurbished one for my mother at markedly reduced prices compared to one brand new from most medical supply houses.

Question : What health problems are needed in order to qualify for gastric bypass surgery?
What types of health problems are needed to qualify to have gastric bypass surgery? Do you only qualify if you have severe health problems caused by this or could you qualify if you have smaller health problems like knee arthritis & breathing problems? Most of my family is obese and have heart disease, sleep apnea. Would they take that into consideration? My sister had gastric bypass surgery with a starting weight at 208 and is down to 128. I don’t think she had any medical problems due to her obesity.

Usually you have to have a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 40 or more to qualify for gastric bypass. If you have a BMI of over 35, sometimes you can qualify if you have significant co-morbidities such as diabetes or sleep apnea. First and foremost, “they” look at how morbid obesity is affecting you, however, your family history may be taken into account, if close relatives are morbidly obese and have health problems relating to obesity.

A.) A Christian group that will treat you but has the additional agenda of witnessing to you and perhaps lecture you about abstinence and deny you access to condoms and sex ed – even if you’re being treated for something else
or
B.) The secular group called Doctors Without Borders who inject who do not inject religion into medical treatment and and give care and base their ethics only on current science/medicine and what is proven to be best for the patient, regardless of the doctors’ or patients’ religious beliefs

Question : When to decide a Nursing Home is needed? What questions to ask? How can we do this when insurance is void?
My mother in law passed out yesterday because of her high blood sugar. She was diagnosed borderline diabetic 10 years ago. With the EMT’s report on her blood glucose level being over 200, I’m certain she is diabetic. She refuses to do what the doctors advise her, and she refuses to take medicines. She may or may not have medicare. My husband and his brother have to talk about what insurance she has. We think it may be time for her to go to a Nursing Home because she is getting to the point where she needs 24 hour care/medical attention. She has a bad hip as well.
My question is…Is there a way to get her in a Nursing Home without insurance and just use her Social Security? Our family, nor my husband’s brother can support her financially. What should we do? How should we go about bringing this up to his mother? Instead of saving her money, or most of it for the past 14 years, she has spent most of it on Bingo, and Lottery Scratchers etc. and depended on her two sons to pay her way. So she has no money either. Ugh..what a mess. We are unsure of what to do. For her safety, she does need a Nursing Home. But how can one afford it without insurance, or barely any insurance, and no other means to pay?

Canam: She does smoke like a turned over train, so I imagine it’s not only her blood sugar, but her heart as well. Yes she does need to see a doctor, but she is a VERY STUBBORN woman. She doesn’t have any property. She rents. In fact, she has no assets at all. Just her things in her apartment.

You didnt say how old she is. Usually if someone has no insurance and needs a nursing home, medicade will pay. If she is on Social Security, she should have medicare also. If she has any property, the money that medicade spends for nursing home care, will come out of her estate. It is complicated. I do think medicare pays for some inhome care. A blood sugar of 200 will not make you pass out. She needs to see a doctor because other medical problems, such as cardiac problems could make her pass out. I think a doctor would have to decide that she needs nursing home care. Unless she can be deemed incompetent, the decision has to be hers.

Question : I am looking at starting up a duct cleaning business here in Clearwater, FL: what is needed?
I already know quite a bit regarding duct cleaning because my father has owned an HVAC company for over 20 years now. I am from California originally and just need to know the usual Florida codes for starting such a business and any tips or recommendations….can I legally clean the evaporator coil and blower motor housing here? Or do I need my contractor’s license for performing this kind of work?
