Question : Will the military provide active duty members with orthodontic braces?
If so, do soldiers have options as to what type of braces they want? For instance, if a soldier wanted clear braces, can he get those?

For the first part of your question, I believe the military will provide braces. Now if there is a choice as to the type you get I don’t know that.

Question : Can being prescribed a steroidal inhaler for a sinus infection be a disqualifier for the Military?
I had a really bad sinus infection and was prescribed a steroidal inhaler. Can being prescribed an inhaler be an automatic DQ? I dont think so, but I just want to put some worries to rest. I’ve been really touchy about my medical history due to pediatric asthma from the age of five to eight (well before the cut off age of 12) I’m kind of a neurotic, but I just want to be sure.

I haven’t been diagnosed since I was like 6 or 7, and I never used my inhaler once. And if I can’t is there some kind of test that I could do that would prove I don’t have asthma now?

Someone close to me has Seasonal Affective Disorder, which is basically seasonal depression. She gets pretty down during the spring time for some reason but she’s fine every other time of the year. Her life dream pretty much is to enlist in the Coast Guard, would this make it so she isn’t able to enlist?

Question : What is the training program like for someone who wants to be a medical technician or doctor in the Military?
I would like to become an Emergency Medical Technician (First Responder), and I was wondering if there is a program and/or need for them in the Military. If yes, what is the training like, and how do I find out more about a career like this?

The training to be a doctor in the Army is the same as becoming a doctor anywhere else. 4 years of college then 4 years of medical school. The Army will usually set you up for residency.

I would like to get a free schaolarship for my pre-teen that would pay for a private tutor, a diet consultant, exercise coach, drill seargant, room and board, counseling if needed, semi-private room, access to no internet, no junk food vending machines, and college bound classes taught. latin classes would be helpful.

Question : Does laser eye surgery disqualify you from being a military pilot?
I have done some reading about some pilot programs in a few of the military branches. I came across something interesting that stated: If you have had laser eye surgery in the past, you are disqualified from becoming a pilot. Is this true?

My next question is, if it is in fact true, why would that disqualify you? Laser eye surgery can correct your vision back to 20/20 and that’s what pilots are suppose to have correct? So wheres the logic in that?

I heard similar to the same thing, that in order to be a pilot you needed to have 20/20 vision, and not laser eye surgery. Yet i also heard form someone in the military that you can as long as you have lasik, and keep having it as it begins to decrease and get worse. I’m not sure though, someone answer this question! lol
