I’m asking this question b/c my med technologist program has closed down and only a med technician program remains at local comm. college. I know most Med Technologists have a bachelors (I already have a bachelors in biology). Once I become certified as a medical technician can I later become a medical technologist through years of experience? Can anyone offer some HELPFUL advance? Thanks.

No. You need to graduate from an approved med technologist training program. If you have a BS already, look around for another training program and do the full med technologist-its only 1 year. Don’t waste your time or money in the tech program.

Most of what I found so far are propane/ large scale device. Can someone point to a certain supplier that provide something that is small enough for desktop/ laboratory environment, and capable of adjusting concentration from 10 to let’ s say 1000 ppm or 1% vol ?

There are many laboratory equipment businesses that can be found on the Internet. A Google search would be your best bet to find one. I do hope that you have lots of money, like many 10′s of thousands of dollars because while the scale is expensive, the other stuff makes the cost of the scale pale in comparison.
