The LSU Student Health Center decided to expand awareness of this issue by hosting I LOVE ME WEEK. They wanted to inform students to accept their bodies and stop focusing on flaws. Hope McPhatter, Wellness Coordinator, says that the illness is becoming more of an epidemic and that the event helps to build self esteem. NEDAwareness Week is a collective effort of primarily volunteers, eating disorder professionals, health care providers, educators, social workers, and individuals committed to raising awareness of the dangers surrounding eating disorders and the need for early intervention and treatment.
