Does anyone have weird eye sensations during the high pollen counts. I live in NY and my eyes have been bothering me, more than ever. They get blurry, sticky,
when i blink i see sparks in a dark room, eyes keep blinking to lubricate my eyeball it seems. Anyone else ever get this? I am totally hung up on this, can allergies affect the eyes like this? Thanks so much!

My eyes are so irritated when the pollen count is up. I wear contacts too, so that makes things even more uncomfortable. I live in the NE too and have reacted to the high pollen count these last few days. Totally normal and common allergy. Use eye drops to get the red out.

I am extremely allergic to oak pollen, but levels in my area have recently been under 5. However, I feel just as bad as when they were hitting 10 and 11. What might be happening?

Maybe you have other allergies. Take a teaspoon of LOCAL honey each day and you won’t care what the pollen count is. I think that the more humid an area is, the less likely it is that pollen grains will float around in the air. The moisture in the air, wets the pollen grain and takes it to the ground so that it does not float on air currents.

ummm google it ..and type in pollen count and usually it will show website and will have a calender to look at

All three were for specific NBC O & O’s., NBC5.com Chicago, NBC5i.com Dallas / Fort Worth, and NBC4.com Washington DC Different versions of the voice over, music and logos were supplied by the client. I used a high resolution photograph of a bee, and animated it’s wings and it’s trajectory of flight. We purchased a 1080p clip of the “flowers” opening, and I time mapped, and color corrected them as needed. Screen captures of the individual websites were used as well. Each piece was designed and delivered at 720 x 540 square pixel, and 720 x 486. My allergies are awful right now- this year has been particularly bad. I live in Mississippi and pollen count is “very high”. When will it ever start going down?
By the way, anybody ever tried Singulair or other prescription meds? The over-the-counter stuff is just not cutting it!!!

The prescription meds are worth a try. When the Dogwoods bloom, your allergies should start to improve.

Question : Do Allergy shots count as treatment for asthma?
Do allergy shots count as treatment for asthma? I have not been directly treated for asthma since I was about 8 or 9, but still take allergy shots and will be for about another year (’till I’m 15) Is that a DQ? Also, how hard is it to get a waiver for asthma treatment under the age of 13? Do I need to take a Pulmonary test? What doctor do I go to get it from? Thanks, I want to go into the Army Reserve to be an ITS if that helps.

By the time your 17 the way it sounds from what you said then you might not have to take the allergy shots and at 17 is usually when you can join but most join at 18. I think you should be good thou because most people get away with it when they ask if anything is physically or mentally wrong with you. I know a couple people that grew out of asthma and still has asthma that are in the army. They just didn’t tell their recruiter or any of em that they had it. Hope this helps you out some what.

i’m just wondering where in the world would have the lowest pollen count during allergen season? Are there any good websites that list the best and the worst??
Basically, I’m looking for an area to visit to get a break from the itchy nose and sneezing…. (except the artic and antartic of course….!)

Pollen count is the measurement of the number of grains of pollen in a cubic meter of air. The higher the number, the more people will suffer if they are allergic to a particular pollen . Usually, the counts are announced for specific plants such as grass, ash or olive. These are tailored to what is usually a common plant in the area being measured.
One method of taking the sample uses a silicone grease covered rod that is rotated in the air to collect the pollen. The rod is rotated periodically during the collection period to gather samples through an entire 24 hour day. The rod is then removed and taken to a lab where the collected material is analyzed for the type of pollen and its concentration.
