Question : How long does it take for orthodontic braces to close the gaps between the teeth?
I’ve been in braces since January and my gap in the front-top is just about closed. How much longer do I have to wait?
They told me I would be in braces for 16 months.

How long did they feel you were going to be in braces?
It is more then just closing the gap they have to make sure your bite grows together as well as it can and you have wonderful alignment.
Most braces are 12-36 months. Just call and ask them.
You are paying a nice price for them they should be there for your every question!!

Question : is it to late to close the space made for implants and just reshape my cuspids/canines to look like incisors?
i was born without lateral incisors, and i got braces in 7th grade and im in 9th grade now. i was getting my teeth pushed back for future implants and now getting spaces made for it. My parents(asian) didnt know anything about dentistry well before and well chose this route for me. Now today dont want this route. So i am wondering if its to late to close my gaps and undo all this work. i know it would be a waste of work my dentist did but i thought hard on this from the answer on last question. Before i got the spaces i had my cuspids right next to the two front teeth. . I am wondering if i can close that space that was suppose to be for implants and just reshape my cuspids to look like incisors. This was one of the options WAYY before but my DAM parents had to choose this route. I was to young and in fact i cried many times about implants and “fake teeth” and whined i just want to get my teeth shaped. Sigh… If i do CLSOE the gap and RESHAPE the cuspids Would it look good/ real? or obviously fake? Would my smile look as good as a smile with implants? i havent talked to my dentist about this and not sure how he will handle this. My parents are asian and so is the dentist so i can imagine him being VERY angry or asking WHY DO YOU WANT TO CLOSE IT HUH? the gaps he made made me lose so much self esteem. Will it be a real bad choice if i choose to close this gap and reshape it? would it look retardish? I really do not want to live up with fake retainer/ until 18 when i get implants…
iam not an emo kid and im really happy. thats the problem i LOVE to smile but i hold it in. Thats why my old friends know me as so funny and stuff but now im becoming more dull and insecure. And especially to girls. Lets say im a hot guy until i smile. Please help. Im under emotional distress. SO FELLOW dentists/orthodontists/people with experience. the most important thing before considering implants is to maintain adequate space.
A removable flipper, aka interim partial denture can do just that.
When you are ready there will be enough space for the implants.

Question : how long does a front teeth gap take to close with braces?
i’ve had braces for about 10-11 months now, and i’ve seen a vast improvement. At the moment i’m waiting on my bite moving back so i can get my lower teeth braces but on my top teeth, i have a gap in my front two teeth because i had overlapping teeth beforehand. I was just wondering do you know how long it will take before this gap goes away? Thank you.

It shouldnt take long if you fallow all of the Dr.’s instructions. I had a horriable overbite, and they told me that it would be three years untill i got my braces off. But I ended up getting them off in a little less than two. So just follow his/her orders and they’ll be off before you know it. :] Good Luck!

The need to know and understand the healthy levels of cholesterol arises because it has a dominant and prominent role to play in the maintenance of your proper health. The defined levels of cholesterol, in terms of medical science, are: Desirable level, Tolerable (border line high risk cases) level and High risk levels. Well, here is the defined classification of these levels.
Desirable Level Of Cholesterol: Less than 200 mg/dL
Borderline High Risk Level Of Cholesterol: 200 to 239 mg/dL
High risk Level Of Cholesterol: 240 mg/dL and more
Now let’s have a close look at each of these cholesterol levels one by one.
When your cholesterol is at the desirable level you don’t have much to worry about heart diseases. But, don’t think that you have the free license to eat what you want. You need to be still cautious about your food habits. The level can change any time. And once it changes, the fear element will enter your frame of mind. So, continue to eat low saturated fat foods, plenty of fruits of vegetables and make exercise a part of your daily schedule. It is also desirable to have cholesterol levels measured once in a year. I’m not sure if it’s an ‘old wives tale’ but it’s said that the closer to ovulation you BD, the more likely you’ll have a boy. I do know that last time we BD’d to conceive it was ON ovulation day and we had a boy. This time we BD’d ON ovulation and I was just wondering if there was any chance for a girl?
