In May 2010, President Obama, at a Rose Garden ceremony, announced a new effort to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and energy efficiency standards for heavy trucks and medium available and begin the process to other Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE ) to provide for light vehicles. O Increased use of electric motors for the functions previously managed by belts on the engine.

o Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles operated exclusively with electricity.
