Question : How can my LDL cholesterol be above norm, but my triglycerides are only at 56? Shouldn’t they work together?
Hello! My LDL cholesterol is 123, which is in the “Near Optimal” Range (100 is Optimal), but my triglycerides are pretty low at only 56. Shouldn’t those two things work in the same direction, like both high or both low? I eat all kinds of food, but I don’t eat a lot, I’m pretty slim.

Actually they both are two types of different fat.
LDL is a lipoprotein which transports cholesterol into your blood stream, since cholesterol is a fat and cannot dissolve in blood. It is called the “bad” cholesterol, since it carries cholesterol to your body cells. If it is at high levels, then you have high risk for atherosclerosis disease.
Meanwhile triglycerides are another type of fat, with different formula from cholesterol. Its blood levels depend on the diet you’re following. While, LDL cholesterol levels depend either your diet and your body synthesis.

I have 3 years of retail experience in high-end fashion and cosmetics. Also took responsibility of business management and sales promotion responsibilities. In addition to fluent English I can speak: Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese, and beginner Japanese. I’m very internationally immersed having studied in France, Taiwan, and Japan. Also worked in dental office, legal office, and presentation design; so I’m quite diverse. I’m very good with drawing, design, and creative activities. My only disadvantage is that I’m still currently a university student; but I will be graduating in December.
