Non-Invasive Optical Blood Glucose Monitoring System
blood sugar monitor
A non-invasive blood glucose monitor that measures the refraction of laser light through the clear fluid in the front part of the eye to determine glucose levels. This is a concept sketch for the diabetesMine design competition. The concept of measuring blood glucose through the aqueous humor has been researched and tested, but to the best of my knowledge, nobody has proposed a testing device that uses the concept. My design proposes a sonar/infrared “depth gauge” but in all likelihood, this will be unnecessary as the angle of refraction will probably not differ with the angle or amount of fluid that the laser passes through.
oh heck yes!! great idea. you had me at ‘no more finger sticks.’
good luck!!
