I am looking for a career change and would love to be a dental assistant. How hard is it to get a dr. to do on the job training? What is the pay?

depending on your state some Dr.s will hire you without experience, but if you get a degree you will start out with higher pay….average starting without a degree is $ 8-$ 9 depending on the Dr. with a degree $ 13-$ 15
You may be lucky enough to find a Dr. who will train you on the jo; but the laws are changing. In Texas, for example, the assistants now have to have A radiology certification and pass a jurisprudence exam. I just moved to Las Vegas, where there is no such limitation as of yet, but I do have to take a certification examination.
I went to American Trades Institute (ATI) in NRH, Tx. It only took one year, three months of which was spent in an office to get a feel for real-world training. I’m glad I went the school route.
