What are my options for invisible braces?
Question : What are my options for invisible braces?
I have to get braces but I don’t want them to be visible. I have an overbite and my teeth are crowded so I don’t know if I could get invisalign. The cost doesn’t really matter unless it’s astronomically more than braces. Please don’t say something like “But with metal braces you can get fun colors”, the last thing I want is rainbow colored stuff on my teeth. Remember the key word here is INVISIBLE.

haha! I know how you feel.
I have clear braces and love them. They are self-ligating, which means I don’t have the rubber band things around each bracket…which is the part that turns clear braces yellow (yuck!)

Hun let me tell you that nothing is absoltuely INVISABLE, even Invisalign is slightly noticable! I have it and they glue attachments on your teeth and since you have an overbite you’ll have 4 other attachments glued so that your jaw can move so people up close will see them. They are tooth colored bumps on your teeth and since your teeth are crowded you will probably get 3-4 per top/bottom plus the brackets for the elastics. Also you can see your teeth are shiney and if someone is up close they can see spit bubbles. Invisalign is around $ 2000 more than traditional braces so that may or may not be affordable.
There are lingual braces which are metal braces that are glued onto the back of your teeth. I don’t think this will really work for the bite but I don’t really know much about them so you could look into that. Also I would worry about cleaning the food out of those since you can’t really see if you miss anything.
Then there are ceramic braces which are not as invisable as the other 2 options. I know you want absolutely invisable but that doesn’t really exist so I’m giving you options. These are tooth colored brackets and a metal wire. My sister had them and they worked really good. These also probably work the best for your bite problem.

Your best bet is ceramic braces. I wanted color but my mom said no because its tacky. Some people don’t even notice them unless I mention it. The only bad thing about them is the elastic bands stain easily and become yellow but you still can’t see it until your really close to your face. You get the bands changed every time you get your braces tighten.
