Compare defibrillators – Medtronic vs St Jude?
Question : Compare defibrillators – Medtronic vs St Jude?
The cardiologist wants to replace the Medtronic 3-wire defibrillator with a St Jude model.
What are the trade-offs? Is St. Jude verifiably better?
Obviously, I REJECT the notion that the only source of information is one doctor. That defeats the entire purpose of asking questions on this forum.
Budget is not a problem (for us): Covered by insurance. It might be a consideration for the insurance company or the doctor or hospital.
I assumed there were several models.
The current model is MEDTRONIC Model # 7303.
Which St. Jude models are similar and what parameters influence the choice?
medtronic defibrillator

There are different models for each company. Only your doctor can decide depending your disease process and budget.
There are many similarities & differences.
You can “reject” all you want but making a medical decision based on what anyone here says is plain foolish. You can’t ASSUME that anyone on here is who or what they say they are. I’ve never seen anyone that even claims to be an electrophysiologist.
You should ask YOUR doctor why the change. Ask HIM/HER which is better. If you’re STILL not satisfied get a second opinion from someone you KNOW is qualified to answer the question. Not the random person on YA.
