Firstly you should definately talk to someone about your condition. If it is diabetes it should be treated as soon as it is diagnosed to avoid further complications.
Every model is different, on some you can’t erase the memory, but on others it is possible – check the manufacturer’s guidebook or check their on-line site if they have one.
I’m not familiar with the particular blood glucose meter that you mention, but with some meters you would need to remove the battery (or batteries), but this would erase your mother’s results too.
From what you say, you appear to be concerned about your mother finding out that you’ve used her meter. Please don’t be. I understand that you don’t want to cause her concern about your anxieties on whether you may, or may not, have diabetes, but I’m with Just Janz about this. If you do have diabetes it is best that treatment be started as soon as possible. There are a whole load of complications that can affect someone with diabetes, but these can be delayed, or even prevented, by bringing your blood sugar levels down to as near ‘normal’ as possible … and keeping them there. This is no short-term project. You need to keep your blood sugar levels as near normal as possible for ever.
I’m on my hands and knees here, pleading with you to do something about it. If you’re old enough to do it for yourself, please book yourself an appointment with your doctor. If you’re too young to be doing that, then mention it to your mother that you feel you may be diabetic. If your mother is as up on diabetes symptoms as you seem to suggest, she’ll know to book you an appointment. Please do it for your own sake, dear lady. It’s really not something that you should be messing about with.
