Question : Is it possible to get a softer mattress for a hospital bed?
My elderly mother sleeps on a hospital bed. She complains the mattress isn’t soft enough. Can I buy a replacement mattress somewhere? What size is the mattress of a hospital bed? Thank you!

They have air mattresses and other different types of mattresses for hospital beds that are meant to help prevent skin breakdown. One of those would probably be softer. I would call a medical supply company (possibly the one where you got the bed from?)
Talk to a personnel in the hospital if they can have her mattress replaced. If they won’t change it, you can ask if you can just buy a new mattress for her. If she is going to stay in the hospital for a long time, getting her a more comfortable mattress is ideal. But try buying mattress toppers. There are a lot hospital beds toppers out there. Check out online stores such as Amazon.
