ok…what can heartburn feel like…other than a burning heart as the description indicates? Or is that it? Trying to figure out if my husband is experiencing heartburn or something else.

Heartburn is a symptom.

There are a number, and everyone’s different:
Burning in chest or stomach
“wet” burps
hiccoughs
back pain
arm pain
difficulty breathing
upset stomach
sensation of food coming back up the esophagus
sensation of food not going down the esophagus
sore throat
irritated throat (esophagitis from acid refluxing)
These are only a few, and heartburn can happen anytime (not just right before or after meals) If he’s experiencing anything like a myocardial infarction *heart attack”) it’s better to be safe than sorry, so I’d call an MD or get to the ER
