It’s easier to explain what it’s not. Clinical depression is not simply having a bad day, or feeling blue for a few days. It’s also not situational depression that happens, say, when you’ve been fired or your significant other dumps you. Clinical depression has no external cause, and lasts for weeks, months, or even years.
