Question : Diabetes pump for a one yr old?
My baby was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last summer when he was 8 months old. My 12 yr old daughter was also diagnosed at that age. We are currently in the process of getting her on a pump, but my doc also told me to get the baby on a pump. She said it would be a life saver. Has anyone else had their little tiny ones on a pump? Did the baby do well with the pump attached all the time? Was it better than shots every few hours?

Your input would be appreciated greatly

Thanks,

Julie

My son is 14 and thinking of going on the pump, but at the clinic they said they had a 1 year old on a pump and the family were doing well with it. She had it clipped onto the back of her babygro and it didn’t bother her in the slightest. I personally think that the younger they are the quicker they will adjust to it as it will be the ‘norm’ as they grow up

good luck
