Spicy foods, anxiety, worries about work or money, or relationships. You could try to avoid them, but doing some relaxation exercises before bed, or get a good sleep aid to help you. Personally, I used to get insomnia a lot, but then when I went on Zoloft for anxiety, my insomnia went away.

Okay since there are hundreds of things that cause this sort of thing I will just tell you some things that will help. The saying, you are what you eat is more accurate than most people think. Our foods these days are not as they were originally intended. Meaning they now have tons of hormones and preservatives among other things in them. Do your best to eat right, such as get plenty of proteins found in chicken and meats, also eat plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits. Try taking a good vitamin as well they help our bodies obtain the stuff we don’t get in our diets these days. Secondly get plenty of exercise like walking, bicycling, roller blading, or even an aerobic work out at least every other day. Then at night before bed try a cup of hot Chamomile tea and put a note pad next to your bed for quick notes, because if you are anything like me your brain won’t stop thinking of things you needed to get done or need to do the next day. Then just jot them down on the pad and forget about it until tomorrow when all you have to do is look at your paper.

You are not alone. I am up day and night all the time. I am sick for being deprived of sleep. I fall when I fall. I wonder at times if the day will come when I never sleep again, I guess it is better then not ever waking up, or is it? I will not suggest you take sleep aids or pills. I do suggest, if this is new to you, that you DO NOT sleep at all during the day, so that you fall out at night from tiredness. Good luck and God bless us all…

Best thing you can do is go see a doc.
However, there are a lot of things that interrupt sleep – including STRESS
If you are on medication that causes sleeplessness, please check the side effects of any meds you are on.
Drinking alcohol interrupts your sleep.
Anything with caffeine should be avoided before bed – coffee, tea, pop, chocolate
You should NOT do ANYTHING in your bedroom but SLEEP! Believe it or not, things like reading or watching TV give your body the signal that being in bed is a time to be awake, so stop doing stuff like that.
GET DAILY EXERCISE – it helps you sleepIf you want to try something herbal, buy some Melatonin at the drug store, and take it before you lay down for a full night’s sleep. I have boughts of insomnia – but Melatonin can really help. And it’s herbal, so it’s non-addictive and really has no side effects. please consider it.
Sometimes you just go through stressful periods in your life, or you have a hard time sleeping. It doens’t mean you have a disorder. You should try some melatonin, or try doing Yoga before bed – do things to relax yourself before you go to bed. These should help. Believe me… I went 6 months with NO SLEEP – it didn’t take me 1-2 hours to fall asleep, it never happened. I got a LOT of cleaning done in the wee hours of the night, but I was a zombie all day.
Reduce the stressors in your life, try exercise, yoga and melatonin and see if that helps. if not – go see a doc.

I have a terrible sleeping disorder. I will swallow anything at night to knock my black @ss out! I was on Ambien CR that sh!t is so expensive! $ 110.00 per prescription. So I had to go the cheap route. I now take Tylenol PM and I swear it works just as good. The only thing different is that Ambien, CR there is no grogginess in the morning. Tylenol it takes me a while to get it together! But at least the price isn’t kicking my @ss anymore. My sleep disorder is definitely due from stress. Hopefully soon most of my stress will be gone.
Have you tried I think it’s called Lazara? Something like that but it’s just like Ambien CR.

Talk to GNC or a herbalist type store. There are natural sleep aids. Also sometimes the things we eat can effect sleep. Chocolate or other things for example. When I was a child I had a sleeping disorder but I grew out of it… Try a natural remedy before ya get a doctor to drug ya up… It’s true stress or high blood pressure can screw your sleep up…

Being overweight can cause sleep apnea or some sleeping disorders. I know for a fact that excersize can help people of all ages sleep better. Try taking half a Tylenol PM to help you sleep better, But I def recommend excersize. Not only will you sleep better, but have MANY MANY other health benefits.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.
