If your physician thinks you have the symptoms for these conditions he or she should be able to put you in contact with the proper facilities so you can be treated for the condition.

-extremely low weight
-failed outpatient treatment
-dehydration/electrolyte imbalances
-physical side effects (heart problems, kidney/liver problems)

There are more, but those are the basic criteria.

As others have already said, your doctor can get you the treatment you need. This website has a bunch of tests that should be run and explanations of treatment and whatnot; it could be very helpful for you. You’re doing a very courageous thing, reaching out for help. I’m proud of you and I hope for only the best for you.

First step would be seeing your doctor. They would know the exact criteria and would be able to tell you what they, a medical professional, would feel is best to help you through your eating disorder.

There are other ways to go about treatment than hospitalisation, but if you and your doctor thought it best i am sure it could be done. Probably best to go ahead and just ask about all the options available to get through this?
