I am working on my 5th week of this program. I had a friend go through it and she is such a different person today! She conquered so many fears that she had– so I have decided to try it myself. It deals with so much more than anxiety and stress– but it helps you to see how you can change your thinking to help you overcome fears–helps you to look at things more positively. I agree with one of the other ppl about the person who wrote a negative review. You have to be totally willing for change in your life. And you have to be willing to WORK at making changes. I know in just 5 weeks it has helped me so much. Yes it’s work, but I am sooooo much happier for it. I think that this is the GREATEST gift anyone can do for themselves– if you are only willing to do it. I know it has helped me and so many other of my friends. So go for it. If you really put your effort into it, you won’t be sorry!

If you’ve never taken a trip to the library or surfed the internet trying to find answers for your anxiety and panic this program might qualify as a good “one-stop-shopping” buy. Otherwise it’s just a re-hash of techniques perfected elsewhere by others, as well as coming across as some kind of ego-trip for it’s creator. You’ll get sick of seeing her face and hearing her voice; relating back to her own experiences over and over and over. The audio programs come across more like “The Lucinda Bassett Show!”, and what’s really irritating is that when she does relay some good info, it’s almost always something that Dr. Claire Weekes wrote back in the 60′s, and you can usually find Weekes’ stuff for FREE at the library! …So if you’ve got it bad and are about to give up listen carefully now, to a person who’s been to the bottom of the bottom and won’t charge you a cent for what I’ve learned: 1. QUIT trying to figure out how to live without your anxiety and panic, and instead begin to optimistically figure out how to live WITH it (it aint going away…but you can make it’s visits a LOT less frequent and a lot LESS terrible). 2. Find a psychiatrist who will spend more than 15-30 minutes listening to you before giving you a prescription for Paxil. 3. When you find a shrink you trust TAKE what they prescribe, don’t quit taking it `til they tell you to, and quit worrying about it!; whatever else, they can find you something to ease the symptoms so you can function. 4. Read some of Dr. Weekes writing’s. 5. Don’t forget item 1! …I’ve been where you are, or worse, but I’m better now. The anxiety still comes around now and then, but if you think of it like your ol’ friend come for a visit it won’t scare you so bad. -

I checked out a copy of this taped series. My opinion is that this was pretty awful. There is SOME good stuff in here, but it’s a light sprinkling mixed in with a lot of (fill in the blank). Although titled and marketed as dealing with anxiety and depression, it had an obnoxious amount of Lucinda talking about her “agoraphobia”. (If you listen to this series, you will grow to cringe at that word.) This series is primarily targeted to people who have panic attacks. In a way, it kind of teaches you HOW to have a panic attack; the detail she goes into about her panic attacks and agoraphobia is obnoxious. It doesn’t deal very well with anxiety and depression as the title states. A more fitting title would be “All about panic attacks.” Additionally, HALF (or more) of the time on these tapes is used up with people just chit-chatting about their experiences. This series sounded like it was recorded “as is” then released without any editing at all. I didn’t find it to be very useful or professionally done, which really surprised me. -

This program is very helpful not only for fighting anxiety and depression, but in every day life too.
The person who have wrote a negative review, obviously didn’t try this program. You have to work on it, put some efforts and do the homework. If you don’t intend to do so – don’t waste your money! And talking about “chit-chatting” in the audio lessons – that’s where you learn, you relate to those stories and find your own advice in it. I’ve picked out few strategies from those people experience, which have rang the bell for me. For somebody elese it may be other words and strategies that has lit the light.
The program tackles different problems that create stress, depression and anxiety. On separate weeks you recognize your problems each by each, learn how to deal with them, develop an opposite aproach to them and make a habit out of it.
I’m very thankful to Lucinda for developing such a program, which realy changes lifes.

I think this program is really great. I’m on the 4th week and I can feel results already. It does require homework in a workbook and listening to tapes/CD’s, videos and lots of practice with handling how you talk to yourself. This program is great for anyone dealing with anxiety attacks and you can always go back later after the 15th week and review any area your still struggling with. I plan to keep mine after I finish with all the lessons. The relaxation CD is really great also. Well, worth the money. You can order it from Midwest Anxiety and Depression Center/Lucinda Bassett. You can try it for free for 30 days with no obligation to buy. Again, it helped me out a lot. Well, worth the money.
