Dust Mites?
Question : Dust Mites?
Does Lysol Spray kill dust mites? I sprayed it in my dryer filter canister. I was cleaning the dust filter and 30 minutes later I got a ton of “mosquito” like bites. So I sprayed Lysol. What do you think? Help…
(dust mites)
Best answer:
not sure if they kill dust mites, but dust mites don’t bite. people are allergic to dead dust mite particles and dust mite feces when inhalled. Also, if there were dust mites in the dryer, running the dryer should have killed them. I am severly allergic to dust mites and all bedding should be washed in hot water and dryed in the dryer.
Ricky, spraying anything like that in the dryer is dangerous. Residue could ignite next time dryer is used. Dust mites do not bite. Their feces and carapace contain a protein that when inhaled causes the production of IGe by the human immune system (this is what you and I call allergy). As for what bit you, it could be fleas, gnats, or even these tiny little buggers we call no-see-ums around here. If you want to get rid of the mites in the wash, try De-Mite. I have been using it for years and it is marvelous. The bottle will tell you to use more than you need, so if you try it. go easy with it. This is a great spot for it

Instead of washing in 140 degree water, I use the De-Mite and cold water. Gets rid of the mites and is much easier on my sheets.
