Omega3 – Going, fish oils
Have you heard? The fish oil supplements are recommended for everyone! Believes much of the hype, with my usual reservations!
Fish oil and whole, unprocessed oils are usually what the doctor ordered. rapidly, especially our 30 years “bold”, where the Americans to avoid as much fat as possible, it is good to hear that we have something good, healthy fats in our diet. There is increased media attention to the use of omega-3 fish (The Today Show, January 31, 2007) and even suppliers of primary health care to pay them to recommend their patients.
Fish oils have been proven to reduce our risk of heart disease, cancer and diabetes.
Why fish oil is important?
As with a variety of fats, our body needs to survive a significant amount. In many of my articles and my book, I describe the “Exchange of life,” the process by which water, oxygen and nutrients in each of our 100 trillion cells are placed and how dioxide carbon, waste and toxins move out of cells. This process needs to circulate freely in our cells and healthy for our body to be.
The cell membrane, mainly produced from fats, is at the heart of this exchange. These membranes are like the movie is: a protective barrier which is selective about what they can in and out is, the softer and more supple, more beautiful and more functional than we are, in and to the outside!
Stress, toxicity, poor nutrition, poor rest / sleep and poor absorption of water can all cause cellular membranes years to enter our rigid body and prematurely. The most rigid and unhealthy cell membrane, the more we suffer symptoms such as lethargy, pain / stiffness, headaches, and more. Are not corrected, can cause severe symptoms and concerns of chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, chronic pain and cause chronic diseases like cancer and diabetes.
Do not worry!
By improving our way of life and always the right amount of healthy fats in our diet, we can create soft, supple, healthy cell membranes. This is the way to really recover and preserve our health.
All this sounds good so far, right? Well, actually it is. So what are my reservations?
Although First I recommend that most patients get the nutrients they need, you can directly from its source (in this case by the consumption of fish), not really, I propose, patients eat fish 2 – 3 times a week. Because of reports of contamination of fish, particularly mercury, it does not eat a good idea to fish too often. A couple of servings per month, that’sa lot.
Not only the second use of fish oils. Current medical research shows the variety of fats in the diet is as important as what and how much. There are many healthy, delicious oils for you. It is the olive oil and sunflower classic, but what about oil mother? Almonds, walnuts, sesame and peanuts (really a legume) oil are all excellent choices. These oils are used to improve health and flexibility of your cell membranes, all very satisfactory, while your taste buds!
You can and should a small to medium quantities of increasingly saturated (thick) oils such as butter (organic if possible) and coconut oil. Also in the body needs a variety of fat. Too many of the same type of fat can lead to unbalanced cell membranes and can also affect our health. healthy oils are always sold in glass bottles or in large doses, such as olive oil. The oils are sold in plastic, not a no-show, the package indicates that the oils more processed and not very healthy for you.
3rd Avoid processed, trans fat or hydrogenated. These fats have been processed, and modified so that it unhealthy to the body. This includes margarine, butter, vegetable oils cheap processed (in plastic containers) and foods fried in hydrogenated oils (chips, snacks, restaurant fried foods).
4th Cooking with fats and oils as little as possible. Heating can damage fats denatured () for what they or less useless in the body. I propose, with just enough food from sticking to the pan / skillet, add oil to keep food on the griddle hot. This is not a new concept, as is done in many countries around the world.
So how much oil should I one day, Doc?
Well, it’s different for everyone. As part of my diet Bio-Logikal, I am able to calculate how much fat a person needs in a day, and we will integrate it into their food. Most people need 2-3 servings (teaspoons) of fresh oil, clean every day.
Choose your oil supplements with caution. The toxicity, which may exist in fish can spread to benefit if the manufacturer does not care administration to clean and no damage to the oil. Use only a product of a fish oil manufacturer that certain information about their purity specifications bid.
Fish oil may also be a problem with taste. Manufacturers use different flavors of natural taste of fish, “repeat” might hide or “burp”. Flavors must be strong to taste the fish flavor (lemon, orange, strawberry) and patients often burp flavor hiding. Therefore, I recommend using a “enteric” produces fish oil. This coating process natural (not included) allows the capsule in the stomach and small intestine, where it opens and moves absorbed. Enteric coating is a bit expensive, so you can see, EC products are a little higher in cost, but worth it in my opinion.
I recommend Terra-EPO, a high purity fish oil enteric (600 EPA/400 DHA). I always recommend our Terra-EFA, which contains a combination of fish, flax and borage oil all mixed together in a capsule.
