What you need to register for the baby shower?
My mother raises my baby shower in October, and I need at least by mail in mid to late September. We already know my crib, dresser and night table, but we lack a large part of the Big Stuff.Ich, we are a high chair, playpen, need stroller / car seat combo, but for d other things, to record what mothers and fathers? Is it absurd to put layers on the list? My mother thinks so, but it will certainly come in handy!
What do (or what you want to save)? And very grateful for the ideas, if it matters, I am with Babies R Us’ registration and the target.

on the target baby registry, there is a tab to “jumpstart registry”…that gives you great ideas to have on your registry…i would put “big” items on the registry…my daughter did, and she got the stroller/carseat combo from my cousin…and another large item from my sister….so, go for it! you never know…also check out and see if your local community has a “FREECYCLE” group offered by yahoo…that’s been very helpful in getting FREE baby items, such as diaper coupons, sheets, crib, swing…just use your registry as a wish list…have fun!

It is good to put small things on the list like diapers. For one, it says you want a certain brand of diapers. Having small things is good if some of the younger daughters of your relatives are coming and want to be able to get you their own small gift off your registry. Anything your baby needs can go on there.
You can also ask for cute bedding sets, crib sheets, bouncy chairs, baby carriers, and safety things like outlet covers and such.
It doesn’t hurt to put some clothing ideas that say your style. If you are having a girl and don’t want pink, make that statement by registering for non-pink things. A purple blanket, white socks, a big pack of onsies in your color choice.
If you are breastfeeding, consider how close you are to your family before you register for breastfeeding supplies. Are you going to turn bright red holding up some nipple pads? Do you want everyone to see your breast pump who is at the shower?
Remember that many stores (like Target) will let you buy everything left on your registry after your shower for 10% off. 10% savings will really add up, especially if you put some packs of diapers and such on there.

Go ahead and put the big stuff on the registry. Some people might put money together to buy it. Seriously, just go to the store and anything and everything you need, register for. If there is a particular kind of diapers, put it on there. If not, diapers are always a default gift that people go for, so if you don’t care what brand you get, you might just leave them off.
One thing I would suggest NOT registering for though would be clothes, onesies, shoes stuff like that. If people want to buy those things, they are going to buy what they want. Plus, a lot of the stores don’t put pictures of those items, only confusing descriptions, so it is hard for people to tell what it is that you want. Also, you will get a million bibs, washcloths, and baby towels, so you may want to exclude those items as well.
My husband and I tried to register for as many “practical” things as possible- thermometers, fingernail clippers, bottles, bath tub, diaper genie II, Boppy pillow, monitors, bed sheets, etc. Basically, if you need it, put it on there. Just try not to pick the most expensive items, because then people can’t afford them and will end up getting you something they CAN afford that may not be something you want/need!!
Best of luck with your pregnancy and parenthood!

Baby clothes, toys (no button eyes because they can fall off), items to baby proof the house, breast pump, linens, bottles, lotions, shampoo, soap, baby-sized bath tub, walker, Vaseline, baby powder, Desitin…the list can be endless!
Be sure to pick things that won’t cost too much along with the higher priced things so friends and family can give something, regardless of their financial situation.

I would register for diapers, definatly! And feel free to do a few different sizes too because you never know if you’re going to have a big old baby or a tiny one! lol
Basics like onesies, bibs, burp cloths, teethers and toys, blankets, anything you might need to help with nursing (bottles, pump, santizers, etc), sheets for the crib, etc would be a good place to start…and also feel free to register for some more expensive things like you said; high chair, etc. You might consider a baby carrier that you strap to yourself, those are great! Maybe a bouncer seat, even some things for when they get a little bigger like an exersaucer are good.
And luckily some people will get you gift cards which means you’ll be able to figure out what you need most and buy more of it later
Good luck! -
Register all the big things you might want or need. But at the same time put things on the list that are not big items but that are important to you. I dont think diapers is a bad idea. I recently went to a babyshower were the girl had at least 2 months supplies of diapers that is a major help to people. Put small things on the list for the people who can not afford the big things though. If you have a lot of big items people are going to get offended. Unless you have wealthier friends and family then you can put alot of the big stuff.

Do you have any friends/relatives who have had kids recently who could go with you? My hubby and I asked some friends to come along and it was GREAT. They knew everything we needed and everything to avoid. As far as registering for diapers, do it! You don’t want to have to run to the store and buy them later. We even registered for Desitin. Have fun!

I love the shopping cart seat covers with the toys on them, It SOOO grosses me out when people let their babies chew on the handle. They don’t think about how many people have touched it.
Lots of crib sheets are nice, too – it’s no fun to have a leaky diaper and no clean sheets in the middle of the night.
Diapers are a great shower present, I got 3 great big Costo boxes at one of my showers.
