Hi Ben,
While I’m sure your suggestions will help somewhat, my recommendation is to tell everyone about Emotional Freedom Technique, EFT, which will actually ELIMINATE Panic Attacks on the spot. I’ve done it many times and its has never failed. I’m glad you’re making some suggestions to people, but EFT will take care of it all in my experience. Thanks.

This guy is reading from a text book or has heard some other pseudo-techniques about panic attacks.
The last thing some people want is contact when they have panic attacks.
Someone pawing over you only increases the claustrophobic effects you already have. You do need someone else there who can help you, but NOT with physical contact, at first anyway.
You need them to talk so calmly that you can’t help but be calmed. That works. -

@tammas2000 After you have been calmed by some gentle, calm words, you may be receptive to physical contact. Say your wife’s having an attack, maybe get her to sit one the floor on a cushion and stroke her hair, something relaxing like that can help. Sometimes.
Panic attacks are so wearing that, if you’ve been suffering one for a while, it’s like having done a day’s work as a labourer.
You get very tired, very tired; and that’s usually your respite. -

@TheDfi3 i totally understand how it feels , i have the same symptons almost every night , i feel like i cant breathe , and cant think , just oh no i die i die i die , but actually i just KNOW that im not dying because then i would be dead already , and i just keep pushing myself towards that thought that i cant be dying for hours ( because usually i have panic attacks for 1-2 hours then i calm down) , so what i cant recommend is , to try and think about something else, go read or play something

This is all really interesting to hear other peoples panic attacks. Im 31 now and have been having attacks since i was 27. During my first attack I honestly thought it was the end. Even telling people there to tell my family and friends that i love them and all that. It messed my life up completley. i started drinking way to much and cos of that getting in trouble.done 5 weeks in prison for it.Hate people who say they always get them when you know they dont.You just have to deal with it.

@1040charlie
i’ve been having panic attacks sine i was a teenager. from my experience it wasn’t usually the setting that induced the attack, most often it is things that are on my mind and in one case it was from the pain of a physical injury. but i then again i’m sure they can be induced by all sorts of things in different people, so yours might be different.
hope this helped, panic attacks suck.

@JisuMoviesLinksNet
there is a way to do it without pills, identify what causes your panic attacks and learn to avoid those things (if possible).
for me it is just avoiding stress (not always possible of course), but i just try to keep as positive an attitude as i can about everything and avoid worrying about insignificant stuff; this seems to work most of the time.
