Hi,
MM doesn’t “target” one location; it may concentrate on an area but it is everywhere (sorry)
Once you get one Lytic lesion you will get more. They are especially prevalent in femurs and hips also.
MRI’s and Xray can see the damage but only if they are specifically looking for it. They are very hard to see, so make sure they know that is what the pictures are for.
If you do have MM activity on the back bone, make sure you have read up on Kyphoplasty which can repair some damage and is minimally invasive surgery. Radiation may also be needed; get it taken care of sooner, rather than later because the “cascade effect” that happens with MM, once it starts working on a bone it can very rapidly destroy the whole thing and you could have a compression fracture which give you a lot more complications, along with degrading quality of life.
