I was not aware that there are any requirements. Last I heard it was largely unregulated and therefor anyone who wants to can claim to be a “Naturopathic Doctor.” This is the real reason “medicine” like this isn’t monitored by the FDA or a similar group, if it was they would have to prove it worked and its practitioners would have to prove they actually knew what they were doing. It’s a conspiracy all right, just not the one that they tell you it is.
It depends on where you live. There are a handful of states (I think 8 or 9) in the U.S. that regulate Naturopathy, the rest do not. So, technically, in the unregulated states there are no “education requirements”.
To become a LICENSED Naturopathic Physician you need:
1) 4 years of college with appropriate courses in math, biology, physics, chemistry, psychology, etc.
2) 4 years of accredited Naturopathic medical school, plus internship
3) pass board and licensing exams.
