Any tips for the classroom guinea pigs go up and down ramps?

I’m going to build my two guinea pigs a new cage that two ramps, any tips for teaching, to have use it will be?

Show him your holding a piece of carrot, once he smells it, lead him up the ramp & down again then ive it to him as a reward. Do it everyday & he should get comfortable & used to it much more!

Mine usually just skip the ramps and jump up. They learned to do it on their own. Guinea pigs are ALWAYS exploring and love to play so if they go up once, in time they will go up again…and again…and again, until they get used to it.

Treats are a great idea. Put some big yummy green Dandelions (or something similar) at the top of the ramp, and they’ll most likely want to go up and check them out. If you have one piggy who doesn’t want to go up the ramp, when they see another piggy doing it, they might decide to try it.
