What happens to the contact lens solution after three months?

I used to wear contact lenses until i had Lasik surgery a year ago. I remember that nothing happened with my eyes whenever i used my solutions for more than 3 months as long as you keep it in room temperature and not exposed to heat. However, now that i have clear vision, I will not risk anything to harm my eyes. Therefore, i suggest that you discard your solution if you have exceeded the number of months since you opened it. Next time, buy a smaller bottle so that within 3 months you have already used it if you only use your lenses twice a week. Better be safe than sorry.
