How long did you feel sick after getting up from Suboxone?
I have been on Suboxone for months and tapers down. I was off to 1mg for a while and it went 3 days ago. I feel like I am starting to get better. Does anyone have experience with this? How long stopped before nausea? How long before you felt normal? THANK YOU! God Bless.
okay dont let these people scare you… I am a recovering heroin addict, and I am now a supervising counselor at a drug rehab, after I got clean I went back to school and got my degree in drug and alcohol counseling. I was on suboxone for 1 year, and went from taking 16mg a day to 10 mg a day, at the end when they were tapering me off they took me to 1 mg a day, and I did that for a week, then I took 1 mg a day, but did half in the morning and half at night, and then went half every other day, to not taking it at all. I was fine for the first 2 days, and about the third day I had very MILD withdrawel symptoms. I was a little nauseous, very very sleepy, which was odd because when I was detoxing from heroine I never could sleep. I still had a little diarrhea but it wasnt that bad. I never went through the cold sweats and the jittery legs, and the hotflashes, I wasnt throwing up, or anything like that. Of course there is a bit of withdrawel but if you do it right, the way your doctor suggests, and keep plenty of tylenol PM on hand to help you if you cant sleep, as well as mylanta or pepto Bismol, you will be back to yourself and perfect in at most 10 days. So dont let the person scare you that said the worst is ahead of you because it will get a little worse but its nothing like methadone and its nothing like heroin. I have tried all 3, and we actually stopped using methadone in the rehab I work in and we detox with suboxone now, the patients have a much higher success rate, and are doing alot better. I dont know if you do meetings at all but if you do you should definately up your meeting attendence while you are withdrawling ti keep your mind away from the drugs. But I just want you to know there is hope, I was feeling perfect and happy within 7 days, but ive seen it take some people 10. I was on it for a very long time though because I was using alot of heroine and I was shooting it daily so my dr suggested I use it for a year, Good Luck and GOD BLESS. You are doing the right thing.
