What will happen after I have done the Atkins Diet and go back to a normal, healthy diet?
I am going to do the induction phase of the atkins diet (2 weeks) to kick start my weight loss – however, can anyone tell me what will happen when I return to a healthy, low fat diet afterwards? I don’t want to put any weight loss back on again.
I KNOW the best way is to exercise and eat a healthy diet from the outset, but the above is an option I am considering, I’d appreciate it if anyone who has done similar can tell me of their experiences.
Thanks!
Studies show high protein diets lead to increased risk of heart disease, colon cancer, bad breath (halitosis) and constipation. Consuming more carbohydrate that can be used by the body will store this excess in fat cells.
This diet recommends limiting the intake of starchy, high carb foods so that the fat is burned first. So by eating meat, cheese and eggs and keeping bread and potatoes to a minimum, fat is lost.
There appears to be little clinical and scientific evidence behind this diet and by the elimination of whole food group’s important nutritional deficiencies are likely with long-term health problems encountered.
