Is there any way after testing HIV negative 11 months after a possible exposure? No longer the Expo?
I was tested 11 months after possible exposure to HIV and the test was negative. I have no demands more was possible. Is it even remotely possible that I have HIV? The test can be wrong? Thank you for your answers. Can you please say your background, because everything I read on the Internet, says that if you after six months of negative, you ar guaranteed Emore than 99% you do not have HIV test.
HIV testing is extremely accurate. It is accurate 99% of the time, which means that some people will test positive although they are negative regardless of when their last exposure was. However, people have to trust the results of the tests because the odds of it being a false positive are extraordinarily rare. In your case, take your results as the truth. You are HIV NEGATIVE. If it makes you feel better and if ir calms your nerves, go ahead and take another test. The other people are referring to the “HIV Symptoms”. HIV is a extremely complex virus in which scientists still do not know 100% about the virus. Studies show that people do experience these “symptoms” up to and including 10 years. However, those symptoms are so common in every other common viral infections that it seems almost ridiculous to assume that you have HIV if you experience any of those symptoms. Also, given every person who has tested for HIV, studies show that people who test positive are most likely going to test positive at the 3 month mark (99% of the tested population). So you figure if at 3 months 99% of the people who are positive test positive, people who test at 6 months who are positive have a 99.9% chance of testing positive. Leaving them with a .01% chance of testing negative. This is due to many other variables. Be happy, cheer up, and live on you are NEGATIVE!!!!
