There are community palliative care courses that run every 6 months. You could try asking through your local council or wait for your local paper to advertise them (every 6 months).
Other courses are distance education courses like Certificate 111 that focus on palliative care which can get you working in nursing homes etc

The college of nursing are actually advertising a Palliative care course distance education package at http://www.nursing.edu.au but I am unsure if you would be interested as I am certain that it would be a traditional avenue.
There are alternative health hospitals and clinics around you could try looking in the yellow pages. I think they practise homoepathic medcine.
