the only exceptions i have are no yoga, cheerleading, water sports or trampolines for at least a year. other than that, i can pretty much do everything else. =]

in march of 09 i had the surgery done. it was a pain in the ass. i had to stay in the hospital for 2 weeks and eat that nasty hospital food and i couldnt do nothing for along time. but its almost march again and its going to be almost 1 year since that surgery i had

hello!! Am Christy!! Am 17 years old an i was diagnosed with scoliosis when i was 12!!! in 3 months i’ll go to America to have my operation!! I would like to know if there is a physiotherapy after the surgery!! Also i would like to know, how long does it take to walk ok and not feeling the pain??? thnx..

I didnt have any therapy after my surgery. I just had to wear a brace for a little while after. They had me up and walking the 2nd day but the pain took about 3 weeks to go away. But it got better each day =]

Thank you for sharing your story! I might be getting the surgery as well. Did it take you a couple of trys to find a good doctor or did you just pick the first one you went to?

i had to go to a different town because no one in my town did it but i met with him once and he was a great surgeon

You have made a great quality video! Nice song and pics. Hope you’re recovery goes well. You made it look so easy, you are so brave.I am due for surgery for a 58 degree curve in July 2010 in Australia. They are going to operate the anterior way, so my scar will be down my side. Congrats on ur new spine!!

This video has to be the most inspiring one iv’e watched, and the music made me think twice as hard. I’m having surgery two and was just wondering if everyone has to have a back brace after the op.? your really pretty btw

Thanks! I really appreciate everything. Im not positive that everyone has to have a back brace afterward but to be honest I wanted mine. It helped me a lot with sitting up and standing because it kept my back straight. But I only wore mine for about the first 3 weeks ( I was supposed to wear it for 3 months) But the main reason I had to wear one was because my upper back had a slight curve and they were trying to stop it from progressing. I doubt you’ll really need one but might get one to help
