Yes it is true. I don’t have any experience with Pilates, but lots of experience with yoga.
By building a strong yoga practice I’ve not only improved my flexibility, but it’s so relaxing that I no longer need to use my asthmatic inhalers and I have grown an inch, no lie!
I would suggest trying both yoga and pilates and finding which you prefer.
Remember, however, that there are many different methods of yoga and you should try a few classes around town to find out which kind is right for you. Try a level one class, try a vinyasa flow class and try ashtanga if you really want a work out!
