I am a 61 year old service connected Vietnam Veteran and my wife has been unable to walk since 2000 because the VA did not treat her broken leg properly. She has a motorized wheelchair, but we have been unable to get a handicap van so that we can transport her place she would like to go so she is a prisoner in her on home. The VA refuses to buy her a handicap van and there are no organizations that help people to buy one who are in great need of one. We tried having my wife in our motorized wheelchair going down the side of the road with me behind her in my car with my flashers on, but we got stopped by the police and told that it was illegal for us to do that. I ask them if it was illegal for a person with one or two prosthetic legs to walk down the roads and they said no. I responded that the motorized wheelchair was my wife’s legs so why if it was not illegal for a person with prosthetic legs to walked down the road was it illegal for her to and the answer he gave was,”Because it just is”. So my wife is unable to get a handicap van so she can not go down the road without one unless she was to have her bad leg amputated and got a prosthetic leg and was able to learn to, walk with it then she could. Since we can not afford to she is punished because the VA messed up her leg.

Question : Online Support Group for Anorexia esp for Women?
There are plenty of “support groups” for young teens with Eating Disorders. I am looking for one that has some actual women in it and is not pro-ana, per se, but also not all about recovery…just a place to talk about our feelings, support, etc.

Question : Would you date somone with diabetes who wears an insulin pump?
If you met a really good person who had diabetes and wore an insulin pump, would that deter you from dating them?
The reason I ask is because I wear a pump and lately I have been bummed out thinking how no one would really want to date a guy with a pump. Seems like diabetes would be a deterent.

Question : i am afraid to ask my mom to enter rehab for an eating disorder?
i am 17 and i found a nice rehab facility for bulimia and depression, i would really like to attend but i am afraid to ask my mom. i called the insurance company and facility and i found out i can attend for free for 45 days. i am at the end of my rope, i cant eat without throwing up because it physically and mentally hurts to eat. my mom knows i used to have a bulimia problem but she does not know i started up again. i need help but i am afraid to ask her

Question : Should I go to law school?
Help! I don’t know if law school is the right decision for me. I graduated undergrad in December from a top liberal arts school with a BA in English. I took time off during undergrad for health reasons (eating disorder), and after I graduated, I had to take off some more time to get treatment. I am feeling in a pretty good state of mind, but am still hesitant about law school.
I like having free time, but I also want to be able to support myself some day. Right now, I am living at home, and going to law school will mean that I can be on my own again, living in the dorms.
I got a half tuition scholarship at one of the top 75 schools. I did a week long pre-law boot-camp, and found the curriculum interesting. I am ok with reading cases.
But, I can’t imagine working at a big firm or working more than 50 hours a week once I graduate.
I have never held a full time job before, and would not know how to go about finding one right now if I don’t end up going to law school.
Right now, all my ducks are in a row to start law school in August. I have considered trying it to see how the first year goes, and if it really is abysmal, drop out after the first semester. Should I at least try it to see if it is a good fit? I don’t think it’s the wrong decision to go to law school, but I also am not convinced that it is the right one either.

Well.. when a good opportunity comes around to you.. its really good to take it.. when your old you don’t get many opportunities anymore and if you don’t take them now I guarantee you that when your older.. you will regret it.. thats what my dad always says anyway….

Question : Will my dentist be able to tell that I am bulimic?
i’ve been purdging for 3 monts but I am in treatment so that isn’t the issue here…but I have a dentist appointment next week and will the dentist notice my condition? Will he ask me about it…or keep it to himself?

I don’t know if 3 months is enough time to do damage. He might make a note of it and choose to keep an eye on it and mention it later if it seems to continue to be a problem.
