Most offices will have at least one machine somewhere in the office but not in every exam room

It depends on the practice and probably what country you live in. Are you in the US?
My old OB’s practice had their own equipment. My new one does not, but refers you to place that specifically does ultrasounds and MRIs. The only time I went to the hospital for an U/S was when I went to the ER because of bleeding in pregnancy.

My Dr has her own well the practice has their own equipment. I’ve been to another Dr and they had their own too. I don’t know why people are saying its not normal, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. I think its more of a convenience, I would hate to go to a different place to go get an ultrasound. The past two times I’ve had ultrasounds done, my Dr has done them, not a tech. The nurses assistant is in the room, but the Dr is the one to actually perform the ultrasound. And I think my Dr even does the 3D ultrasounds there. I guess I picked a good Dr, lol.
