the clear braces are clear an the the normal arnt
I had my braces only a few years ago. They offered me either type.. but as someone said before me, they only allowed the top to be clear. I wanted the normal metal braces.
I found that the normal braces were smaller than the clear ones.. and the clear are not all that clear. You still have a metal strip across them and then the elastics.. unless you get clear elastics too – but what’s the fun in that?
So I had metal braces..
I’m not really able to compare them as I only had the metal ones.. but my friend did have the clear on top and metal on the bottom and they didn’t look that great.. her mouth looked like it was much more crowded than mine
I would suggest getting all metal. They just seem better to me. I don’t think they would break as easily being metal and all.
A few things I would like to recommend you make sure you do though is BRUSH AND FLOSS!! I cannot express how badly I wish I had taken what the orthodontist told me. I have these little calcium white spots on my teeth just outlining where the braces were. My husband says you can’t even notice them but just that I know they are there bothers me. I tried using white strips but they didn’t do all that much. I am told they will fad with time, but why should you have to go thru all the extra trouble, right
Another word of advice is be careful what you eat. I remember right off the bat I was going to be eating exactly what was on the list and do everything right.. but one piece of popcorn lead to lots more and countless nights of picking it out of my braces. Also be aware of the hard and chewy things you eat – brackets can break easily.. not a big deal, you just have to go back to the orthodontist and he/she will tighten them again after cementing it back on your tooth – just more work.
No, you do get the same amount of brackets.. one for every tooth except your very last molar.
Um.. what else can I think of.
Be careful when you’re kissing
