What happens in inpatient care for anorexia?
Question : What happens in inpatient care for anorexia?
Are you allowed to bring like your iPod, laptop, iPhone, etc.?
And also, what would they do if you purged in the shower?
Also if I agreed to go to inpatient (I may be forced.. I am 17), will I be the fattest person there? I am 5’8, 115 pounds…

if it makes you comfortable in a hospital you might be? and they would take care of it no doubt

I imagine you will most likely be allowed your personal belongings, although this may depend on the rehabilitation center. Purging in the shower while in rehabilitation is not a good idea, not only does it defeat the purpose of going their in the first place, but it also causes more potential problems for you in the long run. They may then be forced to extend your stay, and probably take more restraining debilitating measures to restrict your privacy in an effort to maintain a healthy lifestyle. All in all, if you go there don’t do that for your own sake it will be a waste of time otherwise. At least you are getting help with it anyway that’s commendable.

You often cannot have you iPod or iPhone or laptop until you have reached a certain level in a program.
It also depends on how your health is. If you are malnourished and refuse to eat, they might have to give you an NG tube (basically a tube from your nose to your stomach) and feed you through it.
In ED treatment, especially in the beginning, you cannot go into a bathroom alone. You cannot go into a bathroom for 2 hours after you eat period, in many.
If you purged, you might be asked to leave the program, or you would be put on a more restricted program.
This is not to scare you off. If you are anorexic and cannot stop in outpatient care, this is what NEEDS to happen.
I know it sounds awful. At times it will be hard. But the friendships you make and the support you get can really make up for that.
Please do go inpatient if you cannot stop in outpatient.
