i have GERD i was DX about three years ago it causes me to have terrible pain and the med’s do very little, now i live mostly on a diary free diet and no greesy food what so ever. But there has been a complication that i didn’t think would happen, the GERD has now damaged all my teeth so much, that i am waiting to go into hospital to have them all out !!! after having four absues in a few months, which is causing terrible pain, It’s because the stomach acid has eaten all the enamal away !! ouch!

@Michael117american, i too have discomfort in my chest, sometimes throat, and cannot exercise at full intensity because i cannot take deep breaths. Sometimes my chest burns like crazy. Had asthma test, complete heart workup, and both came back perfect. Doctor wants me to take get endoscopy done, and i’ll just have to get it done by the end of the year.

@contreras123 Yea, having no health insurance is the pits when you have gerd. I haven’t been able to see my doctor since i was 17 and haven’t had my prescription in years. I’ve had to result in taking over the counter acid reducers but they don’t work that well at all. I know exactly what you mean, i can’t eat what i want and when i do anyway i pay for it big time, I had to stop drinking years ago i can’t drink a drop because every time i regurgitate it back up and have major heart burn.

I took some Aleve the other day for jaw pain and within 20 minutes began to suffer extreme heartburn. It has been 4 days now, and it has still not gone away yet. It comes and goes but for the most part stays almost all the time. Probably going to have to go to the doctor and get this checked out, because I never really had heartburn issues before (aside from the occasional session every month or so).

@Netherfist THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME 25 years ago, and I never took Aleve again. Try some Aloe Vera Juice for any sort of stomach upset and see how you feel. it HEALS both inside and out. I helped me with some food poisoning I had given myself by eating a shrimp that had been in the heat for too long. it takes care of gas, any indigestion, elevated blood sugar and more. good luck
