You can go to WebMd.com and read up on hypertension. Blood pressure medication is not a given for the rest of your life and many people can discontinue their medication with their physician’s approval once they start exercising every day, have lost weight, eat a more healthy diet and their blood pressure is now back in normal ranges. Have you never watched “Biggest Losers” on TV where lots of those overweight men are taken off all or most of their medications once they change their lifestyles? Occasionally, there is a heredity factor that no matter how well you eat, exercise or lose weight, your blood pressure remains elevated. Those people will need to take blood pressure medication the rest of their lives.

It depends where you go. I’ve been inpatient once in a treatment center and once in a hospital, and I’ve also been to an afterschool program. In a treatment center, you’ll have frequent meetings with your psychiatrist, psychologist and dietician. You’ll also have various types of therapies, including group therapies with the other girls who are in the program. In my experience, there’s a lot of structure within the program. In the program that I was in, there were varying levels that you had to work through to be discharged, but to begin, I was given very little independence and lots of supervision. Many programs allow you to work to a level where you can get passes to go out of the facility and even eat a meal out while following your meal plan.
I’m not sure exactly what types of questions you have, but if you have any more or would like to talk to me about my experiences inpatient, my email address is laurelle117@yahoo.com
Good luck!

What are some illnesses that have similar symptoms to Schizophrenia?

Question : What are some illnesses that have similar symptoms to Schizophrenia?
I’m just curious and this is not to offend anyone, but a lot of the symptoms of Schizophrenia sound like symptoms of other mental illnesses.
Since there is no proven way of diagnosing someone Schizophrenic, then what are some illnesses that could be mistaken for Schizophrenia?
You can be diagnosed with it but there is no way to prove for sure. They have to go by what symptoms a person has and assume, which I think is pretty much BS, because like the first answerer said, it could just be anxiety overload.

Cholesterol lowering drugs do not reduce total mortality in middle-aged men

cholesterol lowering drugs

Cholesterol-lowering drugs given to middle-aged men cause a small reduction in heart attacks, but have not been shown to reducethe total risk of deathor the risk of hospitalizations. Hi, this is Larry Hobbs @ fatnews.com. This according to the cover story in BusinessWeek from January 17th, 2008 “Do Cholesterol Drugs Do Any Good?” “He did see a small reduction in the number of heart attacks for middle-aged men taking statins in clinical trials. But even for these men, there was no overall reduction in total deaths or illnesses requiring hospitalization–despite big reductions in ‘bad’ cholesterol,” the article notes. “Most people are taking something with no chance of benefitand a risk of harm,” says James Wright, MD. The story refers to an analysis by Dr. James M. Wright, Professor at the University of British Columbia and director of the Canadian government-funded Therapeutics Initiative, whose purpose is to analyze data on drugs and figure out how well they work. His contact information is listed at the end of this video. As far as I know niacin, vitamin B3, is the only cholesterol-lowering agent ever shown to reduce the risk of total mortality. Cholesterol-lowering drugs reduce the risk of dying from a heart attack but increase the risk of dying from cancer suicide and accidental death so that the overall risk of death is not reduced. When looking at the research on cholesterol-lowering drugs it is essential to look at data on TOTAL mortality, and not just

Question : is it safe to delay telling others that you may have an eating disorder?
I have known for a while and havent told anyone, but lately am feeling that it has to stop and I need to get help. However the timing is just wrong right now as I am afraid that by telling someone that I will end up in a treatment program, and right now I don’t feel I can do this as I am trying to finish up college and also get a certification that goes away this next July. If I have to miss a semster of school I will not be able to get this lisensure, also any suggestions on how to tell someone?

No. Why would you wait? You want to get worse? There are out patient treatments. I assume you are over 18? Then no one can make you go to inpatient rehab.

I have a very important question about orthodontic braces!?

Question : I have a very important question about orthodontic braces!?
How much do orthodontic braces cost and will health insurance contribute to the paying for the braces?
orthodontic braces

Best answer:

Answer by Steven B
Orthodontic treatment can range from a couple of thousand dollars up to maybe $ 8-$ 10 thousand. This depends on just what kind of orthodontic problem you have, whether you’re being treated by a general dentist or orthodontist, where you live, and choice of treatment method.
Orthodontic treatment will almost never be covered by medical insurance. The possible remote exception (and I do mean remote) is if your orthodontic problem is related to some kind of accident. Depending on the insurance laws in your state, orthodontic treatment necessitated by a motor vehicle accident might be covered. But in general, with medical insurance you’re out of luck.

Have you considered medical treatment and surgical help for this in India? My cousin got her surgery from a company called Forerunners Healthcare in India.
She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as all types of medical treatment and surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your medical treatment and surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
