Question : is it to late to close the space made for implants and just reshape my cuspids/canines to look like incisors?
i was born without lateral incisors, and i got braces in 7th grade and im in 9th grade now. i was getting my teeth pushed back for future implants and now getting spaces made for it. My parents(asian) didnt know anything about dentistry well before and well chose this route for me. Now today dont want this route. So i am wondering if its to late to close my gaps and undo all this work. i know it would be a waste of work my dentist did but i thought hard on this from the answer on last question. Before i got the spaces i had my cuspids right next to the two front teeth. . I am wondering if i can close that space that was suppose to be for implants and just reshape my cuspids to look like incisors. This was one of the options WAYY before but my DAM parents had to choose this route. I was to young and in fact i cried many times about implants and “fake teeth” and whined i just want to get my teeth shaped. Sigh… If i do CLSOE the gap and RESHAPE the cuspids Would it look good/ real? or obviously fake? Would my smile look as good as a smile with implants? i havent talked to my dentist about this and not sure how he will handle this. My parents are asian and so is the dentist so i can imagine him being VERY angry or asking WHY DO YOU WANT TO CLOSE IT HUH? the gaps he made made me lose so much self esteem. iam not an emo kid and im really happy. thats the problem i LOVE to smile but i hold it in. Thats why my old friends know me as so funny and stuff but now im becoming more dull and insecure. the most important thing before considering implants is to maintain adequate space.
A removable flipper, aka interim partial denture can do just that.
When you are ready there will be enough space for the implants.

I wrote a college essay about ways I’ve grown as a person, strengthened, and matured, and I included a few sentences about overcoming depression and being hospitalized, and helped my best friend cope with a cocaine addiction. It’s not all what the essay is about, but those two things are included. My dad looked at my essay without me knowing and told me today that I should probably take those things out, because they’re controversial and I’ll be looked at as a liability. What do you think? What should I do?

Sadly, yes. Though they are very commendable acts and progress, you may be looked on unfavourably. Though colleges will deny it, most places (and this will include workplaces, too, when you look for a job) will not want to hire people who have or have recovered from mental illness. Sadly, there is a great stigma about mental illness (including depression) and most employers or colleges will worry that you will have another episode whilst you are with them. For colleges, this can mean that they lose out on tutoring you fully; for employers, they lose a worker and still have to pay them. It’s not fair, but that is the way the world currently works, unless you are going in for a position as a therapist or a counsellor. Unscrupulous employers may even use it as a chance to get you out of employment if they need to lay people off.
As to mentioning your friend’s drug problem, I would not mention it – because that person may wish it to be a private problem. It’s inconsiderate to write about someone else’s personal problems, even when you are making it anonymous or have changed their names in the text.
What you’d be better off doing is mentioning other, less controversial things that you’ve done to help you grow. This could be volunteering, or other projects, or extra classes.

Well, after months of discussing assisted living with my grandparents and visiting the facility we finally got them moved in. They loved it the first day. We came to visit everyother day. Now it has not even been a week and they told us they hate it. She cant move back into her house because they both have dimensia and he had a stroke. He was overdosing and skipping his medication at the house. Last night we dropped in to say hello and make sure they had some ice cream and she just yelled at me. My sweet little 80 year old grandmother told me that she hates me and she is moving back into her house and I can stay the hell away from her. Of course this made me cry which she just said “Why is she crying?” She thinks he agrees with her that they should move home, but she cant understand what he is saying either. They will have to be split up if they leave and he will go into a nursing home. She has lodging a complaint and wants a lawyer. What do we do?

If the tablets aren’t helping then buy a bottle of Gaviscon from your local pharmacy. It works a treat for me whenever I’m troubled by heartburn.

I am extremely allergic to oak pollen, but levels in my area have recently been under 5. However, I feel just as bad as when they were hitting 10 and 11. What might be happening?
