very good vid man and accurate. there is one question i haven’t been able to find an answer to regarding naltraxone. i know it blocks synthetic endorphins; what about the endorphins our body makes itself? i ask this because i got into oxycontin because i got my spine smashed up in an accident so need pain relief. however, i don’t want to use oxys anymore and withdrew under anasthetic but still have pain. so all i can use is 30mg of physeptone a day as it’s a partial agonist/partial antagonist

@39tommyboy i went thru 4 months of intense physical therapy .. prescribed Oxy, Morphine, Opana etc ,,, And was sent packing from the clinic because my treatment was as good as it was gonna get..i was sent with 1 no refill script for 60 Percocet 10s.. It took 5 weeks of Suboxone (that i paid 20$ each for) just to get past the physical withdrawals .. the mental withdrawals r about to kill me … the mental is FAR worse than the physical addiction.

@SeanElliott731 its hard when them cravings kick in. in which i have them all the time. you would think that after the medicine is out of youre body and the detox is over the cavings would stop also. i have cravings everyday. thats the main reason why most people give in and go back to using. ive talked to lots of alcoholics who havent drank in 20 years and still miss a drink everyday. sad but true. good luck and write me anytime. godbless.

the hard part is like you said when something happens then we use. it goes from killing the pain to depending on it for everything especially are nerves and depression and stress. we have to learn to depend on ourselves to get through all the stressfull days instead of just getting high on oxycontin to numb our feelings. its like everybody i talk to i agree with them pain meds like oxycontin is the hardest addiction to quit next to meth and alcohol. good luck.

@39tommyboy from the research ive done its a rewiring in the brain of myself and all addicts. the presence of the “dope” causes a release of “Dopamine” (DOPE-uh-meen) in the brain and results in euphoria/happiness. Problem is, once an addict, the brain will no longer produce the Dopamine on its own and needs the “dope” to be present, hence the addict can no longer find ANY happiness when the drug is no longer present. So, id say that intensive mental therapy is needed FAR beyond the “detox”….

@39tommyboy what state do u live in? i KNO some do NOT allow a Dr to send u cold turkey like that.it happened 2 me here in MS also. But 4 instance, i am moving 2 Oregon soon, & Oregon has a clause that states if the Dr fully explains 2 the patient what the pros/cons of use of said controlled substance & the patient signs a waiver.. that Dr shall not be held liable for any complications due 2 said prescription. it also states that NO Dr shall leave a patient in pain regardless of the source

@habs66666 side effects r if u do suffer from any REAL pain and u r not “recreationally” addicted .. when u have pain, there will b NO way to help the pain . Naltrexone will bind @ the “mu opioid receptor” and block ANY opiates from binding.. hence keeping u from using because if u do, u wont feel the drug at all, it cant bind to the receptor and u waste the “dope”, & the “real” pain u have cannot be controlled. i feel Naltrexone etc should only be for a rec user to stop wasting the meds I NEED

@SeanElliott731 i live in oklahoma. its in our contract that a doctor is supposed to ween you off such drugs if you break the contract by drug test or going to another doctor. but in every case ive seen here they cut you off cold turkey by banning you from the clinic. that way they dont even have to deal with you anymore. my doctor now is better but is stricter. every month he drug tests. then pulls up youre rap sheet on the computer to see if you went to another doctor and fllled something.

what helped me to get off of opiates. in which is oxycontin that i was addicted to for years and taking up to 600mgs of it a day. i went cold turkey and after the first day i was in full detox. so i started the suboxone. 8 mgs twice a day every 12 hours. it stopped the sickness and calmed me down without the shakes. i still craved a little but not much. then after the first week in which i call hell week. i started cutting back on the suboxone so as the end of the 2nd week i was off of it to.

@39tommyboy part 2 of suboxone therapy. the second week i cut back a piece at a time untill friday i was off of it. then during that time i took vitamens 2xs daily. this is very important. then drank gatorade with it. lay off the caffeine drinks if you can and dont just drink water or you will flush out more and become sicker. so drink lots of gatorade. try and excersize to everyday. and by doing this after 2 weeks the hardest part is over. i take ultram for my pain now only when needed.

@39tommy boy part 3. i take ultram now for the intense pain i have. im still taking the vitamins and a valium for the shakes that hit every now and then. but not everyday. if you still have trouble sleeping then take some benadryl during the entire time. neurontin is good to take for nerve pain and can be taken daily. when the nerves start waking up you will probably need it daily. this is important. also do not take suboxone longer than needed. its hell to detox from also. and expensive.

part 4 everybody is going to have to look for something else now or get clean. they have banned the old mixture of oxycontin to the oxycontin protective mixture. also called O P on the pill other than O C like we are used to seeing. it is like a piece of rubber now. you cannot snort or shoot-up or smoke it anymore. other than chewing up and it still doesnt give you that quick high. they havent removed the oxycodones yet. they are still the same but i look for them to take them off the shelf
